(Ill start off like many other threads ;) )

If one were caught breaking the law, caught by the Gardai, Name+details taken and given 'Probation', Would that be on their permanant record?

So basically Im wondering if Probation has any stand as a criminal record?
e.g. The person can still say in job interviews and such that they have not been convicted of anything.

Sorry to sound sarcastic, but I would like the piece of mind, it was quite a while back and learned my lesson

Gardai can't give you the Probation Act, you have to be given it by a Judge, if Gardai say you are getting probabtion it means they are letting you off.

My understanding is that a person who gets the probation act in court does not have a criminal record.
