I was a member of curves last year for a few months and found it rubbish to be honest. The same routine gets boring and I found the "female empowerment" messages on the wall etc. patronising in the extreme. I came to work out man I don't need motivating.
    It ain't cheap either!

The only way I could recommend it is if you have zero level of fitness it may be a good start to getting back to exercise. Or if you had a lot of weight to lose and don't feel ready for a gym.

I certainly didn't see any women there with figures I would aspire too!

    I like it.

As for curves, it's better than sitting at home doing nowt, so if it be your only VIABLE option then maybe go for a job instead? :D

As Dragan said-its better than nothing, but if its good exercise that your after curves is not for you, exercise needs to be adaptive and everchanging-after 1 month of curves you will be fully adapted and only maintaining your condition, join a proper gym. a friend of mine with the minimum qualifications was told they where over qualified to work there!!

This is sooo true!! The thing is i am not over weight really, 9.5 stone and 5' 3" but i really need to tone. The local gym is horrible and i like the conveinence of the 30 min workout... but i don't want to be throwing away €35 per month if its not anygood?

My time is limited in the evenings so I bought an aerobic step and dvd. I enjoy it - it's high impact and I had done classes before so was familiar with the steps. You can improve your general fitness and tone up with perseverance. I had forgotten what hard work it was.

I could barely do ten minutes without stopping when I first got it but now I can do it from start to end (although I am still wrecked)

The only drawback is if someone calls to the house when you are in the middle of it and you have to answer the door with a big sweaty red head - it can lead to some awkward questions.
