Hi there. In an hour and a half -more or less- is going to start what, perhaps, is the most important match of Argentina's rugby history.

I´ll like to read some comments, if someones wishes. Thank you all.

Argies for the win, but as a Bok fan I'd prefer to play Scotland in the Semis.

    Should be a cracker.

Well I've just put down €16.31c (my online account emptied out!) on Argentina at 1/3. If thats not confidence in the Pumas I don't know what is! :)

    Mike.

Argies to win, by 11-20 points and score 1 or two huge long fought out pushover tries.

Scotland to defend well in the first half, fading nearer the end of the 2nd.

20-30 pt win for the Pumas tonight. They have been playing out of their skins in recent weeks. Can see it continuing tonight!!

    Argentina to win +10.
Just think of the spin EOS could get out of this: "beaten by two semi-finalists (or better) so it's no surprise we went out."

Scotland to win, Patterson & Parks are untouchable with the place kicks at the moment, depends if the ref cracks down on the Puma infringements at the ruck.

Hi. I woldn´t be so confident. Scots are hard to beat. Of course I wish our Pumas to win but I¨ll be very glad with any result.

Nope, thats not what I'm saying, All teams try to gain an advantage at the breakdown, Puma's are specialists at slowing the ball down, if the ref penalises them, and with kickers like Patterson that can be costly.

Scotland to win with a drop goal from Patterson in the last minute! Hopefully they'll win.I've always liked Scotland for some reason and I really don't want to see Contepomi on the winning side after his goading against Ireland.

This is a disappointing game compared to the other 1/4 finals. No atmosphere in the stadium at all. You'd swear the place was empty.

    13-6 HT

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,244 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

HEHEH How come its always the samll people (no offence to any small-fry's readin) that are giving it large and fighting. The little Argie guy looking to fight everyone on the way off.:)

The other quarter finals took a while to get going, so might be a better second half. Scotland making a few too many mistakes

    Scotland looking aimless.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,244 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

Scotland are not gettin gback into this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,244 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

Just as I say it they go on a great counter, super bit of play. Still going to be a struggle though.

If Argentina get a quick score of some sort I can see th eScots heads dropping.

Its much of a muchness really. It's pretty much a play-off to see who gets to lose to SA. Or I could be wrong and Scotland could win the WC. :)

    Well done to the Pumas.

It'll be a tougher test against the Boks next week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,244 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

They wont cause SA much trouble playing like that, the'll really have to up their game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,136 ✭✭✭✭is_that_so

I have to say I thought Scotland blew it and Argentina almost did. Fair play to the Scots. Congrats to Argentina.
SA won't worry if that's how Argentina play.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,684 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

Not great from argentina, and good effort from scotland (compared to the other performances against argentina)
Good to see argentina stay in the competition

I would like to think that, but the Boks didn't play too well today either.

It'll be a good semi. I hope that the Boks play to their abilities and pip them at the post.

Scotland really should have kept trying to run it there near the end , they were never getting under the kick with 2 or 3 argies over in the corner.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,870 ✭✭✭mikeruurds

Argentina have a very good tactical kicking game, but the Scots really played to the Argies strengths by kicking so much good possession away for most of the match.

It would've been nice to have seen Scotland using their back line a bit more in the early stages of the game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,684 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

and the four qualifiers from the pool A & pool D groups into the semis

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,584 ✭✭✭✭Creamy Goodness

god why did they do a cross field kick 5 metres from the line.

they should of kept going through the phases a bit more.

scotland were unlucky they put up a good fight, which was a surprise for me.

Don't know about that. SA are probably favourites but it's wide open IMO. Fukc me. Who'd have thought Argies and England in the SF and France in the wrong one too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,446 ✭✭✭bugler

Neither team can take much credit from that. One of the worst games yet. The only impressive facet of Argentina's play was their ability to turn over Scottish ball almost at will.

I didn't see the SA game, and I know they had a struggle with Tonga earlier this WC, but if they fire in any way I'd expect them to beat Argentina.

I know it was not a nice match, but I´m too happy to think about that just now. WE´ll see now what happens with the boks. Thank you all. By. By.

Come on Argentina! it was a nervous game, but it's was quarter finals... all the games are very closed... i hope Pumas-Boks will be a good game... ahhh i want Argentina-England in the final game.

One more: may be you are not aware of how important is this for argentinian rugby. Perhaps this result can, finally, produce the miracle of seeing our Pumas in a 7 Nations (or 4 Nations) tournament. Again: thank you all.

I hope so too pumas fan 2. It would be great if your team could play in the tri nations next year. We really need the injection of new talent.
