I think that if the Boks kick the ball away and give them space to run, we'll be buggered.

If we play structured rugby and exert our clear dominance in the line-outs and scrums then Fiji don't have a chance.

We also have a markedly superior kicking game. On paper we should win it with ease, but the WC is proving to be the WC of major upsets.

Boks by 20 imo (please don't choke manne!!)

i'd love to see them do it but it might bankrupt the country if they do!:D

Would love to see Fiji do it and after some of the results this weekend, they probably shouldn't be ruled out :)

But my head says that SA will keep it tight and should have no problem...

    🤪

Could be entertaining but SA will probably run away with it in the final quarter.

South Africa will win this by 50- 60 points.

I think fiji will struggle :)

but would be great if they can do what australia and new zealand couldn't

I think there were to many upsets already , the boks will win this one but not by fare. Fiji s a very physical side and should give the boks a run for there money but cant win.

Here from SA my boyfriend is in Frans for the rugby. Had to work couldn't go with and I really mis him hope SA win.

yes, i think without Nicky Little's composure and guidance there were moments against Wales in the second-half where Fiji might have imploded. The Margin of victory for SA would have been less with him in the team tomorrow. It's a pity. I just hope Fiji can at least score one scintillating try tomorrow.

    no way.

Fiji will give them a bruising ride but South Africa's skill will tell in the end.
    I'd say something like 28 - 16.

After the first Few games I though SA would win the Cup but I cannot excuse away the game against the USA.

How many times did the US break through the SA defenses? makes me wonder what the Fijians could Do.

Everyone refers back to the USA game, we where playing the B squad!!! Players where playing out of position and it probably had something to do with us underestimating the determination of the USA. Using that game as a reference for our defence is stupid.
I think we're gonna take these game a little more serious.

I'd be very surprised if SA didn't win comfortably enough. You saw what Wales did to the Fiji scrum. It'll be annihilated by the boks I'd imagine. This is probably the only one of the quarters where there is an obvious gulf in standard. SA should win by 20+ as the aussies did against Fiji.

But yesterday proved that when it comes to the knockout stage, anything can happen. I just don't see how SA will play into Fiji's hands like Wales did.

Here we go , I'll try keep my 100% record (after yesterday )going .I'll go for RSA to win by 12+

so that we made my 3 out 3 ALL WRONG

No Nicky Little, I think Fiji will find it hard, but who knows in this RWC.

    Sit back and enjoy.

Burger Steyn and Feurie are not B teamers. In the 2nd half the US broke through the mid field repeatadly. Hard to understand why. The SA team that day was a 75% full team. And Oh yeah - was Habana asleep?

In contrast to the other two "big powers" SA are actually playing well and have done what was expected of them despite letting the opposition score against them. Even if Fiji get a score or two, I don't they will be up to the challenge.

Did those tackles look high to anybody else?

Fiji giving it everything, but SA get the try to make it 20-6. Rabeni gets wrongly binned. Hope fiji get a few scores now. The boks are lucky to be 14 up at this stage imo.

YESSS Fiji are in even though theyre a man down. Its game on now. 20-13.

Brilliant! I'm hopping around like an idiot. I'd love to go down to work and stick up my fingers at everyone last night who said I was an idiot for thinking that Fiji would make a game of this. And with them being down a man! This is some performance.

SA are falling apart. Great work by Fiji

    Ref seems quite poor

20-20 with 20 min to go

Incredible running from inside their 22. Fantastic stuff 20-20 with 20 mins to go. Another upset anyone????

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,744 ✭✭✭kleefarr

It's funny how the three sides (NZ, AUS and RSA) who were all a bit cocky about it being easy are finding out how jumped up they really are. lol
    Go on FIJI!!!:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,474 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

Fiji keeping the pressure on, so close to the line, but knock on :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,708 ✭✭✭Erin Go Brath

SA seems to have done enough

What a performance by Fiji, they needed to score one of those 2 nail bitingly close try oppurtunities, they were so close to knocking the tri nation teams out.

Nope... nails are gone. Fiji played their hearts out and really showed up a weak SA defence today. We have some work to do if we want to take the cup home.

Great game for all fans of rugby.

    Fiji can go home proud.

Edit: This is definitely the WC of high tackles, shoulder charges and forward passes.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,275 ✭✭✭Chaz

Poor game for SA. Thought the ref was poor, allowing so many dangerous tackles but had the 'nerve' to warn number 4 SA for an accidental high tackle and award penalty.

    Oh well ....

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 2,986 ✭✭✭philstar

well done fiji, you gave them a scare.

on a side note >>they seem to be very religous pointing to the clouds every time they scored and that group prayer at the end.

then again it did'nt stop them putting in some borderline murderous tackles:D
