Good value gyms near stillorgan/goatstown

    My local gym, Benildus Health and Fitness Club is closing, and I'm looking for a replacement nearby. Im looking for a good value, moderately priced gym with all basic training equipment. My goals are weight loss and tone up, so i don't need advanced lifting equipment etc, but I'd like a place that hits all the basics.

    I'm thinking of Friarsland in clonskeagh, UCD, Westwood Leopardstown or Total Fitness Sandyford. Anybody have any comments, suggestions, information on prices etc for the above, or any other places within biking distance that i should look at?

    ucd gym is good enough if you don't care about a pool and is cheaper than most. (around 200/year for non-students though there are frequent special offers). They will bombard your phone with spam though.
    Total Fitness would be significantly more expensive.

    Hey. Unfortunately I have no recommendations but I really want to know what's happening to Benildus? When is it closing? And why?
