Ok so about 3 months ago, when I was finally given the all clear from doctors(torn ligaments, metal rod in my hip, and damage to my achilles tendon, first two in right leg, other in left) I decided to get back to working out. Being an ex gymnast I became so frustrated not being able to work out as much as I had before. while I was recovering I kept up upper body, stomach and Back work, but I developed what I can only describe as love handles.... and after 3 months, of working out 5 times a week (2 hours each) there is still no improvement........my legs are improving at a faster rate. My back is very well defined and I have tried so many excerises spefically designed for lower back/love handle region... Its really starting to get to me at this stage.... any advice would be greatly appricated...

Is 5 2hour workouts a week not over doing it?

Methinks it's diet related as well. You can't eat as much as you could when you were a competitive gymnast.

BTW, are you in the Dublin area? I'd love to meet an ex - gymnast who could show me the training progression for a Maltese or other could gymnasticky things.

My diet is low carb, just purely because Im allergic to wheat and potatoes and havnt yet found an alternitive substitute that I can stomach yet, enough protein, fruit veg, havnt eaten choc sweets or crisps in about 2 years....I dont drink....

as far as over doing it... i dont think i am really....

and for the Maltese... gotta master the Crucifix first mate...
