    Hi Folks,

Had all my fave dance songs on my computer a few years back but the fecker got a virus and they were all wiped (or so I was told)
Have some of them back now but I know I'm missing loads so in order to jog my memory or provide me with some new inspiration, I'd like you folks to tell me your fave dance songs ever. (No Scooter or Cascada please :D )

I'll get the ball rolling, mine has to be either Artemesia Bits & Pieces or Storm Time to Burn!

Jaysus...I could be here all night. I don't think there's one as obviously everyone's taste is different but if I were to take 2 off the top of my head they would be Sasha - Expander (Original Mix) & Salt Tank - Eugina (Michael Woods Mix) :D

As for the best dance song ever? There's no such thing as "the best ever" when it comes to anything artistic. However, there have been an absolute bag load of fantastic dance tunes down the years to choose from. From "Blue Monday" to Gat Decor - "Passion" to "Rez" to "Song of Life" and that's only off the top of my head.

    Hardcore Uproar is fcuking classic,
    2 bad mice-bombscare
    Age of love-age of love

I know it's cheesy, but passion by gat decor is not one of the biggest selling dance choonz of all time for nothing

Though if a gun was put to my noggin and I had to choose one, it would have to be let's get brutal by nitro delux-twas the choon that got me into dance in the first place way back in the 80's

I'd hardly call it cheesy, maybe when they added the vocal but when the original came out it was a real underground track. Remember hearing it for the first time in Sides waaay back yonder.

Ok to answer this one within reason I'd have to propose a hypothetical situation. Forgive me if I go off on one :D

If I was to hear all the dance records from over the years today for the first time then there are quite a few that would stick out. I'll split them into sub genres:

Acid - "The Serpent in the Garden" - Garden of Eden. Sounds as good today as it ever sounded. A timeless classic. Also in this category I would put "Phuture" - Acid Trax. Pure Acid business.

House - "Take a Chance" - The Untouchables. A classic Strictly Rhythm way back in the day House tune. Just Dance!

Techno – “The House is mine” - The Hypnotist. Even now it still sends shivers across the spectrum of my spine.

Dance - Has to be "Passion" by Gat Decor. I remember the first time I heard this in a Club and it blew my socks off. Like an earlier poster said, it’s probably the biggest seller ever which speaks volumes. Although not as big a seller as Passion I would also put "Not Forgotten” - Leftfield in this category too. Two divinely structured Dance tracks, great build ups and top breaks.

Hard House - "Acperience" - Hardfloor. Mind crunching implosion of the brain. The out and out winner in this category in my opinion.

Trance - "Poltergeist" - Vicious Circles. Still packs a punch. Falls in under Trance but it has that Stomper tune aspect going on too. Blower! Again there are many more that could be here but this one springs to mind the most.

Quick shout outs and big ups:

Voodoo Ray - A guy called Gerald
    Pacific - 808 State
    Humanoid - Stakker
Total Confusion – A Homeboy a Hippie and a Funky Dred
    Come Down - Automation
Cappella - Everybody listen to it
Is there anybody out there? - Bassheads
Up and at Om - Taz Dee and the acid MCs
    Subsonic Trance - Joey Beltram
Last Rhythm (Vocal Battle Mix)- Last Rhythm
    Mona Lisa - D Shake
    Holographic Dreams - Guru Josh
    Liquid Empire - Cold Sensation
    Mantra - CJ Boland
Channel X – Rave to the Rhythm
What evil lurks - The Prodigy
    Brazil (Remix) - Spectrum
Psychotronic Sounds - Earth Leakage Trip
    2 Bad Mice - 2 Bad Mice
    Pacific Symphony - Transformer II
    Mental Cube - Q
    Psychotropic – Hypnosis
    Horsepower - Ravesignal III
    Reincarnation - Country and Western
    Hard Times - Rob D
    Different Strokes – Isotonik
Music for the Masses - The Floor Federation
    Rapture - Soul Odyssey
    Tranceillusion - VFR
Anything you want (Instrumental) - Delta Lady
    Gloria - Art of Trance

There are many many more but to mention all would take all day :D

Is that the 1-800 Ming track? With the weird orchestral bit in the middle? I heard it first on GU 16. If so, it's definitely in my top 5.

    A few of mine;

    Ecano - Run (Z2 Remix)
    Jimmy Van M - E.C.I.P.S
    Ogeneki Clinic - First Light
Luna Eclipse - The Return Home (12 - 13 years on and it's still one of my favourites)
    BT - Mercury and Solace
Adamski's Thing - One of the People
    Pete Lazonby - Sacred Cycles

One that I'm not that keen on now but blew me away back then

Joe T. Vanelli - Playing with the Voice

That's all I can remember for the moment without having my tracklist in front of me. There are tonnes more though. I've been searching through a lot of archived music online for the stuff I would've heard on tapes back in 94 - 97, though naturally enough it's difficult enough to find.

As are a lot on the Guerilla label. I have a lot, if not most, of the early releases on both thanks to Abbey Discs back in the day. Drum Club - "You Make Me Feel So Good" & "Alchemy" are top tunes and "Intoxication" by React 2 Rhythm is a great tune too.

A lot of the stuff on Limbo has been re-released on that Simply Vinyl S12 label as of late, noticed some of it in HMV recently.
