    Hey all,

I'm moving to Phibsboro in 2wks and I really need to find a decent gym. I work out in the residents gym here at the mo and its brill because never packed at all:I keep my workout pretty up-tempo and hate waiting around for weights etc. So really need somewhere that won't be mad busy. The main things I need are a spacious free weights section and a treadmill - thats it!I was thinking of venturing into town ,maybe crunch..but I don't want a gym full of posers either!

If anyone could recommend anywhere that'd be great:D

    cheers!

There's one above the shopping centre.
Can't give a review as I was never in it but it's easy to find.
Just look for the ugliest building in all of North Dublin and that's the shopping centre.;)

Is that a public gym? I walked past it but it didn't look great....

Don't go near it, its a kip.

About a 15-20 min walk (5 min drive) from there into Cabra, there is the gym in John Paul Park (the Boogies) . Its run by the council, is fairly new, a bit basic but is very cheap. You can walk-in off the street at about fiver a session or join for 3, 6 or 12 months.

I've only been in there a few times (peak 5-7) and it has never been busy.

If you're on a bike or in a car it might be worth thinking about DCU. Although someone was telling me the fan dabby dozy new gym they have there is only open to sports teams and such. The laymans one is a kip.

Just want to make sure I'm not walking through any dodgy areas cz it'll be late when I going home,

But I'll check that one out cheers
