    Jebus!
Who was the whiz kid who decided to have 'diet and nutrition' as a sub forum of 'food and drink'?

Its quite obviously relevant to the fitness forum!
I go to food and drink when I'm looking for a recipe for spaghetti bolo or making a mushroom and white wine sauce

I see G'em is moderator there, good call! But its seriousy wasted in that forum.

Its like having the military forum as a sub forum to self defence

Probably not suitable here but what are they fitness forum community views on it?

Could you and the other fitness Mods not make a case to move it here - it'll probably go largely unnoticed there!!

There is a thread in feedback on it, and the decision of where to put the forum was discussed in the forums thread during the initial request. so i think it will be staying where it is for the forseeable future tbh.

At the time the idea was initially put forward it pretty much went like this….

    1) I said why do we need this, fitness covers weightloss etc.
    2) Big argument insued.
    3) I said cool, but I think it's dodgy, you'll be attracting everything from pro-ana to atkins, it might get messy.
    4) Big argument insued.
    5) I said cool, if you want to put it under fitness do, but I'll be wary when modding to ensure no bull**** goes on.
    6) Cloud decided to put it under Food etc, which is his call at the end of the day.

G'em and Neuro will do great things with it though, I'm sure of that.

Fair enough - it'd be a shame if threads from here were moved though - that'd be my worry.

    Real shame!

Cloud is no fool, surely he sees the relevance of hitting a button and putting it where it belongs. All you have to do is go through the last 2 weeks of new threads here and see how many people ask about diet and nutrition as a means to weight loss.

    Bizarre to say the least!

Not what I was hoping for when I put my 2c in alright, but I'm hoping it will be a success. Although I forget to check it since it's under F&D.

I'm not 100% happy with where it is either, I think it's a little hidden and out of the way.

But we have to remember that the forum is intended for a wider audience and not just those for whom fitness and nutrition are intrinsically linked. Many people get scared away from this forum, and were the N & D forum linked in with fitness there's always the danger that it would become an "eating for sports/ fitness" area, and that's not the essential ethos of the forum.

It is what it is, and to be hoenst I don't see that there's anything wrong with moving threads from here to there if only to help integrate the two areas. I certainly hope the good fitness folk will drop by and say hi from time to time ;)

Yeah- nobody saw it for days- even the title was spelt wrong for over a week!- first few posts were just thrown in to get things started, now g'em is on board there is some great info.
Perhaps there could be a sticky link or something at the top of this forum pointing to it?

One person was asking for a post to be moved to fashion & appearance since it was talking of using clothes/dress size as a measure of weight loss- the person was probably browsing thinking it should strictly be about food, with no realtion to fitness.

Cant we just have a sub forum for sports nutrition here  , with sections in it for the usual cutting , bulking , healthy diets , pre and post workout nutrition

I personally like the 'eating for sports/fitness' slant to the advice given out here, and as such will continue to post here on topics relating to this issue.

I've my own view points on the forum in question and the approach taken by cloud, but really its poor form to express them here, when this topic has been discussed to death in feedback.

Its amazingly difficult to get a forum created on boards.ie these days
