Late Reg to IPO

The registration for IPO had to be locked down a bit earlier then expected.
This has to do with the currency conversion Boss Media are doing tonight.

Because of this and also becasue of quite a few banktransfers that been delayed in process at webdollar we have decided to open a late registration for the event.


Late Reg for IPO will open up during Monday and last to Friday.

To be able to pull of an event of this size we really had to get people in before tonight and you all done great by registring, 802 is an outstanding result in its self. Indeed it is.

Now we aiming for the 1000.

And as was posted in the other thread Mermaid Poker will host an online tourney on the 10 th october for all those who participate in IPO, it will be password protected and we will add Euro 1500 to the pricepool.

Stephen and Derek will need their time to organize things so please contact me and i will help you.

Was the advertised closing date for registration today? If so, great idea. Force those that would normally register at the last minute to reg a week early. You really have a chance of getting the thousand now(maybe more).

The close date of sept 30 has been advertised for 90 days.
Thast how long a tourney can be in the lobby.

AND there would NOT been up a late reg if it wasent for the currency makeover unlucky got scheduled to this date, we DID NOT know this when setting up the tourney.

I got 43 emails in 10 minutes asking if :
1: can i buy in cash on the 6 th = NO
2: are the tourney cancelled = NO
3: have Mermaid run off with the buy ins = NO
4: why are my account blocked :" we simply just used our wifes, dads ect cards and we did ask them first" = what ?? loool...how would we know THAT?
5: Do one really have to make an account online? = YES
6: i havent herd a word about this tourney until today = too bad

Just one other point that has me miffed!

I opened an account in my name to register and had no credit card so I borrowed my mothers, cousins, nephews card to register. It was ok with him and I've payed him but now my account is suspended why is this? will I get him to mail you saying it's ok?

You wouldnt even beliave the excuses i seen in the last 84 emails to exactley why they havent been able to reg for the 90 days the tourney been up or why they just simply CANT do what 802 people done - reg online. Why they simply have to be in this tournament and why they simply only can pay cash on the 6 th of october.

This tournament isn't Irish its International. It will start on time.

You will be fine to turn up at 12:30, you will just be blinded away.

id imagine there would be no limit to how long you can be blidned away as youhave paid already, no?? not everyone will have you phone number to say they will be delayed etc.

If they don't and they expect to be delayed by more than two hours they would want to send messenger pigeons because their chips will be taken out of play and their buy-in refunded into their account.

If their chips are in play and they dont show up without warning, when you remove their chips, NO WAY should you refund them their buy-in.If they want to derigister,then thats fine obviously,but if they dont then their money should stay in the tourney, (thats only my opinion of course).

Also Steve,I'm trying my best to get 4 local lads here who deal for me to travel up and deal for you on Saturday. I'll know more later in the day.

It is going to be 3 levels according to Stephen, so that is fine imo, but I agree with the others that there should be no refunds. If you register for an online tourney but don't play, they don't refund you, and since this is trying to mirror an online tourney in many respects, I think that should not change either.

I imagine its to keep it fair for all.
Say I end up with a empty stack to my left, its an advantage for me. After three levels its clear the palyer isn't showing (unless he has made arrangements with Stepen) so its only fair to remove the stack and hence my advantage over other players,

you see i agree with this too, if its paid for then let them be as late as they want. no refunds either.
how do you know someone hasnt shown up and left for a while. i can see how it would be annoying thought if they were moved tables.

Its not just because its mirroring online tourneys, because if you pay into a live tournament and dont show up,your chips are on the table and no refunds are possible(unless of course youve made contact with the organiser beforehand and then he doesnt put your chips out.)

If his chips are left there to be blinded out in full I wouldnt have a problem with that(some organisers put you in BB every hand after X amount of levels).

Because its almost guaranteed that there will be some no-shows,a definate ruling on what happens would be a good thing.

I think once you pay, your stack should be left out until its blinded away in its entirety. Making them pay a BB every hand after 4 levels would be fine but i dont think the stack should be removed from the table.

This only applies when there are late entries allowed in a tournament and the dead stacks havent been paid for yet.

this statment is WRONG. If you dont show upo, there is NO refound, never ever heard off that in my entire poker life. IF you dont show up, the buy i is burnt, gone, over, out.

However you take them away or not after 2 hrs, i leave up to you but, you can NEVER refound a player that dont show up and havent announced so in before hand.

I just think that, considering the size of the field, it is preferable to blind stacks out all the way rather than looking to remove after a certain period of time. There is the small chance that live stacks are removed by accident while someone is having a smoke, etc.

Maybe after the third level, we just remove a blind every hand. But, I don't really see the problem in allowing the stacks to go dead naturally. It is the exact same as someone choosing to fold every hand - which would be within the rules of the game. And it would also remove any scope for complaint or refunds.

Anyway, whatever Ste decides to do with them is fine - once it is clearly spelled out in advance.
