Fiji defence was great at the start of the match, but have really had a bad start to the second half

A draw not good enough for Fiji, but they're threatening Wales line...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,985 ✭✭✭✭zAbbo

3 points in it to Wales, and Fiji in Welsh 22, 5 mins left.

This has been a superb match to watch - I'm not sure who to support either... Wales are a team I like to see doing well (except against Ireland!) but Fiji are kind of the underdogs too...

Going to the TMO for a Fiji try.... Nailbiting stuff!

hugely important kick, a conv will bring it to 4 points lead, needing a try.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,616 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

    Fiji are gonna win this!

Wales have it again! Jesus, if Wales pull it off it'll be one hell of an ending to a brilliant game.
I doubt they will, but if they did...!

Time up, but Wales have one last play.

What a finish, for a moment there I thought Fiji had snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Holy hell that was a good match. Well done Fiji. Hard luck to Wales but on the bright side at least Ireland won't be the only celtic nation going home early (well let's hope not).

Scotland v Italy should be very good and I would think it will be a similar type of game to this one.

Absolutely - the way he demanded the ball for the run to set up the winning try was outstanding.

The natural physicality of these South Seas Islanders is frightening and its clear they are way ahead of the entire 6N in their conditioning - in fact I doubt is the Europeans will ever catch up.

The only advantage the european teams seem to have left is in the techical areas of scrum and line out - but when these guys improve their techniques, I think we can forget about it.

Easily the best game so far for me, didn't actually think the opener was that great in so far as France played so badly. Fiji were brilliant in attack and Wales were caught out for the majority of the game.

Classic game. Talk about ebb and flow. An elephant gun would be the only way to stop some of those guys.

Amazing match. Most entertaining game I'v ever watched!

As others have said, I hope Scotland V Italy is similar!

i think that maybe was the best game i've ever seen. i was as enthralled watching it as i was when Hamiliton ran the pitch in 1991 to score against Australia.

This kind of rugby is the type of rugby that wins World Cups. The fighting spirit of the Fijians in my opinion is formidable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,481 ✭✭✭Blisterman

Unbelievable match. Too bad wales didn't score at the end. Then it would have been legendary.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,727 ✭✭✭✭Sherifu

Brilliant game, Fijians put some great stuff together,
it looked all over for them when Wales went in front
but they showed some character to get over the try line again.
Best game i've seen so far, what a finish to it.

Gareth Jenkins got the sack last night - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/rugby_union/welsh/7020577.stm

Didn't think much of him, came across as a bit of a knob (from Lions '05)

Terrible record, 6 wins in 20 games.

How they went from Grand Slam winners to this is the WRU's own fault

    Last thing Wales need now.

They DESPERATELY need a cemented coach and sacking a lad who was told to change coal into gold was a another step backwards. I mean bloody hell he has been there long enough to take the team places

serves them right for sacking mike ruddock

well done Fiji....love your style of panic rugby:)

I bet they'd take Graham Henry if NZ give him the boot.

I wonder what kind of contract Jenkins had, maybe the IRFU will do likewise after the match today (if they can and let's face it they could fire EOS if they wanted to but they just don't).

As i said they probably told him "Change this lump of coal to gold. And by the way if you f**k up once your out and so is your managing career. Dont worry no pressure at all"

Wales have the potential to be very good idea hence why you start burning the coal and suddenly you get a feck load of energy. I cant for the life of me understand why they want Jenkins to change it to gold ie the type of play most scene by any team, small forward platform to the backs. When the KNOW that they have a great style of play that won them the GS

Jenkins was due to finish after 2008 6nations, so I guess this actually makes sense, get a new coach in and give him the 6nations to work with.

What a fantastic game - this is why we watch rugby!

Gutted for Fiji that Nicky Little is injured, he is a great playmaker and a fantastic goal kicker! Imagine what we could do if we had a 'flair' 10 like that :(
