What Dublin Gym is the best value for money that doesn't have a long term contract? I'm only just trying to lose weight and am really only interested in Treadmills and a Trainer. The one on Camden St. for E65 seems good. Anyone know?

To save Paul plugging his own gym I'll step in with The Fitness Dock seems to offer very good value and I believe you can sign up for as short a term as 3 months or something.

Not used it myself, but a friend goes there and she has nothing bad to say about it - though she wouldn't say no to a pool! I'd go have a look for myself too...

On another point - if you are looking to lose weight you SHOULD be interested in more than treadmills & trainers. You should be more interested in your diet for starters, but from a gym POV you should aim to mix your cardio AND do some weight training - you will see much better results!

Three words: Pinnacle. Pinnacle. Pinnacle.... (see a trend?....)
Last time I looked it's 50 sovs a month with NO minimum contract.
Plus the minor detail that it's one of the very, very best gyms in Dublin, and I've seen most of 'em.

Glacier - it depends what you're looking for. Pinnacle and The Fitness Dock are totally different from each other in terms of what they offer and the market they aim at. I recommend you check out both and then make your decision.

I'd be enclined to agree with you.Although I've never trained there, I have gone to check it out a few of times.I was impressed with the selection of equipment and the constantly improving facilities. Also I think that they are due to start martial arts classes soon.
Its 50 a month with no contract. It's not overly busy(like some unnamed gyms are ;-D) and I've never heard a bad story about the place.
It sounds like the place to be.Im going to sign up in the next few weeks

I was member of fitness dock last year...3 month contract. I loved it for the classes but the equipment wasnt the greatest. cud av done with regular maintenance and perhaps some replacing. dont get me wrong it was up to date stuff just there was always a few treadmills out of order etc... perhaps this has changed in the past year.
the range of classes were great tho! I miss the khai bo!

I also enquired in jackie skelly's down the back of grafton st. It looked like really nice gym too. it was the pool that interested me most and the classes. anyways turned out I had to move from dublin so I never got to join in the end. I think this was a 6 month minimum contract too. i had explained to them that if i was stayin in the city it would be for max 3 months and they were willing to do deal with me for the 3 months...very flexible if you explain your circumstances.

    hope this helps

make sure you get that 3 months in writing and signed by the manager, otherwise they have been known to deny all and keep taking money from your account.

Wouldn't mind if they cleaned the floor of the changing rooms.
