What about a drink if you are on a lowfat high protein diet . Not much just a can of beer to take home now and then. Is that OK? Thanks

Well there is no fat in beer, some carbs and proteins, and the empty calories of the alcohol itself. Clear high quality spirits will have less toxins so produce less of a hangover, and the lack of carbs & proteins in spirits means less caloires per unit alcohol.

Hi Rubadub, thanks for that, dont think there would be fear of hangover with one .Just felt like a beer the other day did not know if it would affect diet

Well unless you are training to be the top in the world and even at that the majority at the top of the world will let their hair down and have a beer or two from time to time. Too much deprivation in my opinion is bad, whether you are world beater or a punter trying to lose a few pounds, you need a balance. Keep things in perspective, training and fitness is as much as mental as physical and you need to switch off. I'd be worried about someone worried about having a can of beer.

If you want to drink some alcohol while maintaining a high-protein low-carb diet, would 2 bottles of wine over a week wreck your diet?

Or is that within acceptable limits?
