Welcome to the Nutrition and Diet Forum. Hopefully this place will be most helpful to you. :) Bear with us as we find our feet.

Here we hope to be able to chat about and support one another in healthy diet-related weight-loss and all other topics diet and nutrition-related for health and well-being - cooking for diabetics, coeliacs, dairy intolerant folk and so on.

    1.
Before you post your thread, check that you are in the correct place. The other sub-forums in Food & Drink are:
    • Beer/Wine/Spirits
    • Coffee & Tea
    • Cooking & Recipes
    • Snacks/Sweets
    • Vegan/Vegetarian

Any of the above may be more suited to your needs so think before you post.

    2.
Feel free to offer your advice and opinions on diet and nutrition in relation to the diets of others. Your input is most welcome. Please, however, be sensitive toward the users you address - don't be a food nazi. People vary widely in their approach to diet and nutrition and what works for you may not work for others. Also, consider the advice that you are offered, particularly by those who have achieved and are achieving their health and weight-related goals. I would ask for a combination of realism and tolerance.

Quoted from Dragan (why edit perfection? :) )
We are all hear to learn and to teach. We will be sharing information. It is perfectly fine to point out options and choices to people, or guide them when they may be going wrong but it's important to remember that Nutrition is not an exact science and differences of opinion will always exist. Remember, you are not here to tell anyone what to do, merely to offer insight and opinion based off your own learnings and experience. Seek to help, by all means but do so in a respectful manner. Anything else will be met with a ban.

If you are not interested in the topics here, you will find people passionate about a clean diet in the very excellent Fitness forum.

    3.
Bear in mind we are not professional nutritionists and we are not doctors, so don't look for medical advice. Please seek advice from your Dr. or a Nutritionist before embarking on any major overhaul of your eating habits. If you have any pre-exisitng condition that requires specific nutritional needs please note that the N&D forum is NOT a substitute for a qualified dietician. We cannot advise on the best diet for these circumstances and any posts doing so will be edited/ deleted as necessary.

    4.
There will be zero-tolerance of any pro-ana topics, discussions of pharmaceutical weight-loss aids or crash dieting. This forum is to promote healthy and varied eating - not to advise you in how to drop a stone in a week.

    5.
    Absolutely no porn.

    6.
Spam will not be tolerated. We do not permit advertising of miracle weight-loss drugs and you can expect a ban if you do.

    7.
No personal attacks will be tolerated. Heated discussion is fine but attacking posters individually will result in your exit from the forum.

    8.
Please don't argue with the Mods. Often times we call people out on something in public. This is to show people what is and is not acceptable. Far more often we deal with things in private via PM. On the occassions when you are called out in public please do not argue with a moderator in a thread, it drags the thread off-topic. If you have an issue with a moderator's action then PM the mod in question. They will discuss it with you. If you are unsatisfied with the PM route, take it to the relevant Cmod, Smod, Admin or off to Feedback.

    9.
    Food diaries are not permitted.

That should do it for now. Suggestions for changes to the charter welcome - just send me or another mod a pm. Otherwise - enjoy!
