I will be travelling over to the USA in the few weeks and with the exchange rate between the dollar and the euro so good at the moment I was planning to purchase around $200 worth of supplements i.e protein powders, meal replacement bars, recovery drinks etc. I was just wondering would I have any problems getting these through customs?

truthfully bringing back anything in powder format could be a problem. Also make sure that if it all stuff that you can get here. Something that might be legal like trib in america may not not be legal without prescription here so could land you in bother.

However as to the actual getting them through customs I am not sure, as such I think that amount as with everything else technically should be declared when going through customs but sure we all know how often people are stopped at customs in Ireland

It depends really on the luck of the draw.

You may squeeze by customs, as $200 worth is feck all really. However a friend of mine was stopped with 6 Animal Pak in his luggage and it was confiscated. He lost his money and get a stern warning (threatened prosecution) from out beloved Irish Medicine Board.

Bare in mind guys, if any one wants stuff brought in drop me a PM. We order through the states twice a month.

I was just in the states and brought a load of stuff back. I think my bag was opened by customs but that was probably just to see what the tablets were. Just keep everything in the original packaging and you should be alright

To reiterate depends on what you are bringing back. I'm bringing back about $2000 worth of health supplements and some fitness supps including protein and creatine for my brother tomorrow. Never had a problem, just make sure everything is in its original casing.

only if it gets stopped by customs i got 6x200 hydroxycut with no problems, theyll hit you with a bill if its stopped but if its illegal here they just confiscate it.
