    OK im 14 and i weigh between 200-220 lbs (Yes i know :o ) and im 5ft 7 atm
Now im not sure whats wrong but im not em what you would call one of those mcdonalds type kids who are just 100% fat
I am quite strong compared to other people i know and have very firm biceps and firm forearms.
I can see my abs when i tense up my stomach and they are firm while tense.
Now thats all fine and all but i still have a bit of fat stored on my upper arms around the triceps at the sides of my stomach and my upper leg too.
I do some kind of semi-pull ups (My upper body and lowerback raised) around 20 a day.
    10 normal sit ups
10 situps to the left and another 10 to the right
and 25 leg lifts each leg
    I do this daily.
I dont eat very much either for example today my total calories have been just 400 but thats just today usually it hovers around 1000 or so.
Im not sure what im doing wrong but that fat just wont go away
If anyone would know what im doing wrong please tell me :(
BTW i eat lean meat and carbohydrates most of the time.

How physically active are you throughout the day, other than your workout?

When was the last time you changed your workout/upped the intensity?

How far into puberty are you? You might still have a bit of growth (height wise) in you.

Could you post your average daily diet please.

    Thanks,
    Colm

Hey lad, fair duce to ye at such a young age but be careful.

Firstly, for a lad of your age you are eating nowhere near enough. You are in the prime of your growth so you need to be feeding your body with nutrients and calories. Just make sure they are from healthy sources. I know it doesnt make sense, but a good diet with no training will see more results than a bad diet and good training. Never hear the saying "abs are made in the kitchen"? You need to eat to build muscle, and in turn the muscle will burn more calories while your body is at rest.

Also, as was asked before, how far through puberty are you? This is around the time the old hormones will start to build up, including testosterone, which helps build lean muscle mass, so essentially your body may not be developed enough yet to get rid of your (excuse me) puppy fat. You will find that when you hit the 17/18 mark, depending on your bode, that your metabolism will be going at full tilt and you can eat pretty much anything. I'm at that stage now that it's getting difficult to put on weight.

I would say keep up the little workouts as theyre a good way to keep healthy if you don't play any sports, but give a little more attention to your diet, making sure you eat a good bit more, from healthy sources. But don't get overly obsessed, you are only 14 and need to live a little while ye can;)

    Hope this helps.

Your not eating enough. That simple. When the body doesn't get enough fuel, in this case food on a regular basis it panics, think's there's a famine or something going on and so stores bodyfat in order to feed you when you run out of food entirely. Teach your body over a consistent period of time that you have adequate food, and better still that you are taking it in through the right sources and you're body will adapt and realise that thier is no need to store excess fat becasue food is plentiful.

With that siad it is a fine line between between eating just enough calories below your maintence to lose weight and eating too little calories that your body starts to conserve fat.

Read over the stickies and workout your daily calorie intake in regards to your activity levels. Then knock off 15-20% off that number to stimulate fat burning. Don't go below 20% less then your maintainence calories or you could end up triggering that starvation response.

Rugby is a great way to keep fit, and the fact that it's a team sport means that you will have others that encourage you to push yourself.

Put simply buddy, you CANT forget to eat, it's just not right to starve yourself. I eat even when i'm not hungry, just to ensure i'm giving my body the calories it needs, even if it's just a handful of nuts or a banana etc.

As boru said, look through the stickies, and i'm sure your rugby coach should be able to give you a hand with working out a proper diet aswel if you ask him.

Ive heard of some calorie jumping thing where you eat plenty of calories one day(Enough needed to maintain yourself) and then bring it down the next day to make your body think that the next day will be the same as yesterday and make it burn off fat after all the calories are gone.
    @colm
I am not that active tbh asides from that workout and the rugby on the weekends i work a waitering job which is quite hectic and involves alot of running around (More like i run around too much and weave in and out between people and things) so i'd say thats roughly the same as 1 hour of walking a day.
My average daily diet would be around 1000-1200 calories or maybe 1500 on some days.
I try and up the intensity monthly.
for how far into puberty i have no idea tbh im 5 foot 7/8 ish
