With the Dublin EPT coming up I’ve being thinking about running a syndicate game on either Sunday the 7th or 14th October in the Red Cow Hotel.

    It will be a €350 (€320 & €30 Reg)
    10k chips
    40 min blinds
    Same structure as the EPT

    Limited to 25 players

Winner plays the EPT and keeps 55% of any winnings
    2nd 15% of winnings
    3rd 7%
    4th & 5th 3%
    6th & 7th 2%
    8th & 9th 1.5%
    10th – 13th 1%
    14th – 17th 0.75%
    18th – 21st 0.5%
    22nd – 25th 0.25%

If interested please post in this thread.

    JP,

    Only spotting this now :(

Looks as if you would have the numbers and interest to generate nearly two packages? just a thought. You could still have it as a syndicate and instead of taking 45% of the top you could take 22.5% of each package to spread to the runners up. I could think of least another 1/2 dozen who would consider playing this.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,124 ✭✭✭NickyOD

    I'm 99% confirmed for this.

Also, although I love like the syndicate idea, I think rather than reserves we should structure it to allow as many players to play as possible and have a payout overlay on the money that doesn't make up a second ticket.

Unfortunately this is not an option as the area we are in can only accommodate for 3 tables.

As an alternative i could run this again on Sunday 28th Oct or make my €250 game that day a satellite for the EPT. I'm running my €10,000 guaranteed triple shoot out on the same day and i'm expecting close to 150 players that morning so this may be an option?

I need to know, in or out?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,317 ✭✭✭The Clamper

i just thought of something when i looked at these lists
imagine if that was the Irish poker team, its like a who's who of poker in Ireland
i cant believe my name is on that list, sure what have i ever won?
apart from that, this would be some line-up

just add in andy black and g mcKeever and a few others and we could hold our own against any country, throw in a flipper and a sideshow for good measure, lets not forget mr roche while we are at it and the o callahans and mr barker , benson and betson

actually now that i look again at the list, i have to ask, why am i even thinking of taking on these guys ??

for the sheer pleasure of being able to say "i competed with the very best that Ireland has"
making the top 10% would be a bonus and the knowledge taht i could get a small % from the winner of the best of the best

congrats to JP for coming up with this cunning plan

No ticket available due to shortage of players so we played a two table STT for the same buy in. I went out 3rd. Clamper and that mentalist the The Al Lad played HU.

    lol :p ... sorry mate...
you still steaming over that 10 7 hand  HOW DID U FOLD ???

we did a deal were we both took 2k and played HU for the €600

Derek took it down after about an hour and a half of heads up play

Killer hand AIPF my A 10 sooted v A Jo

    Flop A J 8

    Turn 10

    River 9

A very good long enjoyable game with loads and loads of play, average stack 3 handed was 63k with blinds at 600/1200 100 ante

a few right moves here and there, getting paid on a few big hands and pulling off bluffing a few big pots never mind getting through a very tough field of players

well happy with 2k for a sunday afternoons poker

    well done to Mr. Clamper

I could only beat a bluff which didn't seem logical. With blinds 600-1200 you make it 4800 and the BB is very short so if he shoves for his last 10K you are committed. Then you bet 11,000 on a 9 high draw heavy flop so it looks a lot like an over-pair. You hadn't gotten out of line with me before that so I think it's a difficult spot with Tens. I did get it all in as a favorite against you eventually!!
