Bit of fun here, have you done this? http://www.thisdayinmusic.com

It shows you what was No.1 in the charts on the day you were born.

(Go to Birthday No.1 at the top of the site, it’s free, you don’t have to log in).

    My number 1's are:
'You're So Vain' by Carly Simon in the US
'Long Haired Lover From Liverpool' by Little Jimmy Osmond in the UK
'Ben' by Michael Jacskon in Australia

Loads of other good fun music trivia on the site as well.

This is what I was dreading - someone posting up songs from the day they were born that I remember clearly! And what a tease - it starts off with The Clash, but it was the RE-release, not the original!

It was either 1978 or 1979 - there's an overlap as the songs were out at the end of one year, start of the other.
1978 certainly was a camp year - and I came kicking and screaming into the world like a melodramatic drag queen that year!

Sounds good babes. Next Tuesday good for you?

Walk Right In by Dr Hook was No 1 in Australia when Pighead was born. Not familiar with the song but a quick google reveals the lyrics of the 1st verse to go a little something like this

Walk right in, sit right down, baby let your hair hang down
Walk right in, sit right down, baby let your hair hang down
Everybody's talking 'bout a new way of walking
Do you want to lose you mind
Walk right in, sit right down, baby let your hair hang down

    Sounds like a cracking tune.

Pigheads baffled and stunned that nobody was born when "Everything I do (I Do It For You)" by Bryan Adams was No.1.

That song was number 1 for at least 4 years solid. Was there nobody here born between the years 1991 and 1995?

Seeing lots of people with same songs. Were the pre-MTV generation so deprived they only bought a few songs per year? Poor dears!

US: Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do) - Christopher Cross (you're guess is as good as mine)
Actually very famous. Theme song to the movie Arthur starring Dudley Moore. You'd know it all right.

    Starts with:
"Once in your life you'll find her,
Someone that turns your heart around and
Next thing you know you're closing down the town"

    And the chorus goes:
"When you get caught between the Moon and New York City
    I know it's crazy, but it's true
If you get caught between the Moon and New York City
The best that you can do ......
The best that you can do is fall in love"

Just googled the lyrics to Alans song and its easy to see how it got to number 1.

    I said "Whaaaat"
    She said "Ooo-ooo-ooo-wee"
    I said "All right"
She said "Love me, love me, love me"

Devastatingly romantic. Its always been Pigheads dream to have a chick whisper "Ooo-ooo-ooo-wee" into his ear. Beautiful. Pighead has just made it his mission to hear this work of art by the end of the week.

It was out here in 1990 and was actually massive. Always on the radio. But it didn't get much airplay since. Very catchy tune. I bet you'd recognise it if you heard it.

US - Keep On Truckin' - Eddie Kendricks
Oz - He Did With Me - Viki Lawrence

I'm hoping the Oz tune does not have anything to do with Mr Gadd as well though.

People bitch and moan about Bono all the time, but it took U2 releasing "The Fly" to knock that dick off the top spot.

Yeah he was a bit of a spanner wasn't he. You know the way most artists tend to try and distance themselves from an obscenely successful song, maybe asking the record company to delet all remaining copies or say in an interview that even they are sick of trhe song?

Not our Bryan, on his very next single "Can't Stop This Thing We Started."the fcuker put a longer version of Everything I Do(I Do It For You) as a B-Side. Lord help us all.
