Has anyone been up in the past few weeks?Wondering if sainsburys have any specials going on the drink.

Check their website, normally they have other specials not on the site that are on in the Newry store...

as someone who makes the trip up north a lot (family)
the only major thing cheeper is drink, and you need to be buying a good bit to make it worth you while.

Morrisons have 1litre bottles of Baileys at £10 a pop. :)

I paid £8 for a litre bottle of Baileys in ASDA in Enniskillen at the weekend. £10 for a litre of Absolut vodka or a litre of Archers Peach Schnapps as well.

Also remember that the beer up north is often different strengths and in different sized bottles/cans than the beer available in the south. Bear this in mind in making comparisons on price.

Northern bottles are often only 300ml and cans 440ml compared to 330ml and 500ml in the south.

Try the following thread, it started in October 2008 so its more up to date, but be warned its 60+ pages now. Where are your travelling from?
