    Hey,

    Just finished reading a book about the Low GI diet.

    I'm thinking about giving it a go as a general healthy eating plan rather than a "weight loss" plan. I don't eat great but I'm not the worst, there's just a few things I'd like to change about my eating habits.
    My dad has diabetes and it's on my mother's side as well so I just want to keep an eye on my diet and this seems to be a realistic and healthy dieting plan.

    Have any of you any experience or thoughts on it?

    It's good - it's not a diet as such, it's a healthy way of life. The principles are sound (there's an argument that a food's Glycemic Load or GL is more pertinent than it's GI but that's splitting hairs) and it's not faddy eating.

    I like it because it gives you the information and allows you to make your own choices about what to eat, meaning you're more likely to stick to it. If you're told to eat x, y, and z at specific times, invariably you'll miss a part of it, or not like one of the foods. But this way you get to eat foods you like at times that are convenient.

    Give it a go, it certainly won't do you any harm ;)
