Difference is lipotrim is a rip-off. The ingredients are all listed on its packets, it would be easy to make you your own verision. And lipotrim has about 1/3 the 1500kcals you are taking in.
People like lipotrim since their portion control is already calculated for them. This can often be the root of their very problem- portion control. They will leave the diet and go back to their own haphazard portion/calorie control.

Most suggest a deficit of around 500kcal per day, this would lead to approx 1lb of fat loss per week.

I would imagine you should be aiming for 2000kcal per day. I used to "aim for 1500kcal", 6x 250kcal meals. knowing with sneaky buiscuits & drinks it would end up 1800-2000kcal per day.

Tis probably because you're eating fa carbs.

When guys diet for bodybuilding shows (ie cut) they don't do it cos it's fun. It's very bloody hard on your body.

that's why most people shouldn't attempt to cut a massive amount in a short time unless they're getting ready for a show...

It's always confused me why people would even want to. Cutting a lot of weight quickly is really not a nice experience. Unless you've a damn good reason like making weight for a competition I don't see why you'd even want to. If I was given the choice of losing 10lbs in a week of utter hell or three weeks of relative comfort I know which I'd automatically choose.

Im not sure I understand the whole deficit thing. Does it mean if you eat 2000kcal a day and you want a deficit of 500, you need to burn 2500kcal a day?

Not to hyjack the thread but can I ask a question about this - if a female needs 1400 calories to maintain their current weight and they eat 1200 calories a day and exercise to burn an additional 300 calories - is this the same as creating a 500 calorie deficit or do you have to have to actually burn 1700 (1200+500) calories through exercise to have a deficit because that seems very difficult!

Yes that is it. Most recommend a max fat loss of 2lb a week, so 2lb of fat is about 7000kcal, so a deficit of 1000kcal per day is needed. This could be 500kcal less food & 500kcal more exercise. Best to do a combination of both.

I stuck to aiming for 1lb a week fat loss, this could be 250kcal less food & 250kcal more exercise which is pretty easy to achieve.

The deficit is the amount below your basal requirments, i.e. your normal days energy expenditure.

I disagree with you on this point, i think people are better of working out their deficit as a percentage of their maintenance calories. So drop there intake by 15-20%. So if a woman maintenance was only 1400 or 1600 dropping a >500kcals from food is IMHO not a good idea.

Sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread but I think I'll follow ali c on this one. I would be worried about dropping my calorie intact to anything below 1600 as I would worry that I may wreak my metabolism. I think I will stay with using exercise to create a deficit.

I just wondered how it worked because I used one of those calorie counters and they didn't seem to take in your daily requirments into creating the deficit and I got a bit confused how it worked. Thanks everyone - Hjack over :D

I like cous cous as its so quick to prepare and stops me snacking while I'm waiting for it to cook. Not sure however of its nutritional value but it keeps me nice and full and its a good alternative to potatoes which I tend to use a lot of butter on. So its the lesser of two evils. It takes four minutes to make and I throw in half a vegtable stock cube for some flavour and a load of vegatables such as peppers, carrots, magetout (sp?). Once cooked and drained, I add in some mackeral/salmon (poached)/chicken and then maybe a few toasted hazelnuts or sunflower seeds. Then I put some rocket salad on the side. Ready in five - seven minutes in total.

Do you dislike all fish or just tuna. Some fish is lovely, tuna would be my least favourite of all fish.
