    I have the heavy gripper, 200, 250 & 300.

I can close the 200 barely, but can do about 10-12reps with about a 5mm gap. No chance on the 300, the 250 I can get a good bit of movement.

If it is too strong you can just do negatives- close with both hands and allow it to open slowly with just 1.

The COC is stronger than a heavy gripper, e.g. a 250lb HG might be the same as a 200lb COC.

I suppose you could guage by what people can lift in similar exercises, e.g. I can shrug 75kg on one arm for 12reps, deadlift about 110kg for 8 reps and almost close the 200lb for 12 reps.

    100 150 200 250 300 350
i'd like to thinki'd be starting on the 200 from yer discription
seems the bet way of being sure
alternativly is there a shop selling them?

That is a lot, to step up between them you can do negatives like I mentioned. If I was getting 3 again I would get 150, 200, 250. Maybe even just the 150, 200.

HG 300 "The Gripper King" - Although there are approximately 20 000 HG300's on the market, we estimate that there are less than 200 athletes world-wide that can do reps with this hand grip although most male athletes (and there have been a couple of women) with an average-sized hand can build up their hand-strength to close a HG300 for at least one rep if they train regularly with the Heavygrips. The key to closing the HG300 is consistency with your hand-strength training and avoiding over-training (Don't train with your HG's more than twice per week or when your hand is still sore from your last work-out)

HG350 "The Grip Monster" - The newest addition to the Heavy Grip line-up! The HG 350 hit the market in 2006 at the request of athletes who complained that the HG350 was not tough enough! Although there have been some very strong athletes doing reps with the HG350, we haven't had anyone tell us that the HG350 was too easy! If you can close the HG350, your hand strength is definitely 'world-class'

I dont think I will ever close the 300, maybe not even the 250, but I am not that big, and doubt I ever will be. You would want to be wrestling bears to even think of closing a 350.

But as I mentioned the numbers are not comparable to the COC. So if you try a 150 COC in a shop it is not the same as a 150 heavy gripper.

If your grip strength sucks then I really can't recommend high rep strapless dumbbell rows (25-35 reps), strapless patrial range high rep chins (ala http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8874JYBIODQ) and farmers walks with dumbbells.

It's a problem I've been having in the last couple of months and the above are helping to make serious gains on my grip strength.
