For Sale /Wanted (read first post before advertising)

This thread was created to have one focal point for motorhome / campervan related gear either for sale or wanted.

There will be NO DIRECT ADVERTISING in this thread, the idea is that you place your for sale/wanted item on adverts.ie (boards' own small ads ..they're FREE !) and then create a link to your ad from this thread.

The idea behind it is to
    a) make it easier to find camping related ads on adverts.ie
    b) keep this forum free of ads and sales banter

    The rules are as follows:
    - in your post only give a brief description of the item for sale/wanted and the link to the ad
    - save the big description and any pictures / further details for the ad itself
    - do not mention price, phone numbers, addresses in your post.
    - no posts from commercial companies (boards rules)
    - adverts.ie rules apply (please make sure to read those before posting your ad)

Any posts outside the rules will be either edited or deleted without further discussion

    Hello There,

I have just had a look at the Adverts.ie page. It does not appear to be very user friendly. It tells you everything except how to place an ad.

When do the spanner lessons begin ?

    Chevy RV:confused:

First of all, you have to be logged in :D (very top left corner) and then try and find the "post ad" button in the header bar

    After that it's easy :D:D:D

This is my 1986 Talbot Express Autosleeper, i offer her for spares or repair, i have spent a lump of money trying to get her through the DOE (Ireland), unfortunately the body just will not make it, (much tougher than MOT) engine and gearbox are real gems, gearbox was completely overhauled 2 years ago, engine is the petrol 1971cc, runs like a dream, all in situ and can be seem running, additionally brakes, cables and so much more, all new.
Most of the interior will be going into my new project and re-used, so any of the interior you will need to ask.

Wrong thread for a question (mods feel free to move). Is it giving you grief or is it beyond repair? Hardly seems worth buying an entire (petrol engined) camper to fixed your engine?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,842 ✭✭✭Billy Bunting

But if you can buy a cheap camper loaded with new bit, like mine, then you have all the spares you need for the future, these wagons are getting rare.

    Guys.

We welcome you all to adverts, but would you for the love of Cthulu read the rules there before posting up adverts? Peasant has been good enough to link to them here, as well as the Adverts Support forum, for any questions you might have.

    -Do not post contact information.
-Deal on thread at all times, save to organise a viewing, having discussed and made a tentative agreement or expressed interest on thread.
    -Do not bump your advert.

If I have to infract another campervan seller, I shall be very tempted to hand out bans instead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,819 ✭✭✭✭peasant

    tbh, Roundy Mooney

Nowhere in the 300 pararaphs of "ze rulez and regulationz" does it explicitly say NOT to post contact details.

    It actually says:
Don't ever post your personal details in the public advert unless you like to be contacted by weirdos!
very near the bottom of the loooooong list

People just take posting contact details as a given from posting ads elsewhere ...you might want to be a bit more explicit about the basic rules and not hide them beneath a massive yawn inducing disclaimer ,definition, etc, etc, pp

    ...just a thought :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,910 ✭✭✭✭RoundyMooney

Well, seeing as this was raised here (probably a discussion better served on Adverts Support-we can continue it there if you like), the contact info rule is primarily to prevent off thread dealing, which *is* an emphasised ad rule.

It's also highlighted in stuck topics at the top of the more problematic categories, so, while it's quite true to say that the norm elsewhere is to stick a number on the end of your ad, there are I feel ample warnings in place so that users don't come up against the rules, and suffer negative interactions on adverts, which none of us want:)
