Hey all i swim 6 days a week for 1.5 hrs every day and it breaks down like this:

    30mins freestlye
30mins float between legs ( upper body usage )
    20mins freestyle
10mins cooldown ( breaststroke & underwater swimming full length of 25m pool )

Now granted i was 18 stone and am now 11 within over 1 year and feel on top of the world im wondering is there any swim exercise i can take up to lose whats left of my loose stomach?

I cycle everywhere and watch my diet and drink loads of water, so is there any exercise swimming wise i can add? I just am not able to do butterfly as i dislocated both shoulders on separate occasions.

    Thanks.

6ft 1'. I think it might be loose skin from having a gut?

7 stone in one year!!!! How in the name of god did you manage that? Is it even healthy to lose all that in such a short space?

Diet is your only man for this. Your achievement is amazing so well done but to get really shredded you need to get the diet healthy and drop the carbs

also may be worth subbing some of those cardio swimming sessions with weights

Almost text book, 52 weeks in a year, 2Lb a week = 104 lbs, which is roughly seven and a half stone. That is healthy and consistent weight loss that shows someone who stuck at what they were doing for a year - fair play.

11 stone sounds light for a 6 foot 1 person. Do you do any weights or would you consider doing lifting? After loosing all that weight adding on a small bit of body mass would look good, loose skin wouldn't look so loose and you'd also drop some bf% if you keep your diet clean.

Skin is really quite thin, you just have unsupported fat under the skin.

Eat a higher protein diet, maybe do some more resistance training and just keep going with what you're doing. It should tighten up.

Iv a feeling it is more than likely loose skin. im 6'2 and 12stone and only have a small pinch of fat so id imagine your at least the same if not better.

would you consider putting on muscle? there is really no way to "tone" loose skin

edit; ok ignore what i said listen to ape although have seen other articles that would disagree but i dont know enough to disagree myself

Thanks for all the replies guys but the thing is i find the concept of going to the Gym as depressing as hell as i did it for 2 years and was going nowhere no matter how much Cardio/Light weights i did but im gonna give it a shot on Monday for an hour or so and im still gonna swim Monday too. I must say dropping that weight has boosted by confidence 100% I used to wear XL and XXL now i wear size M and im some cases Small... Im thinking of taking up Rugby as my frame would make me useful as a Fly half.

    Cheers

    David.

excellent progress there my friend. Tell me, was this weight loss solely from change of diet and swimming 6 days a week? Or was there any other cardio added in there?

It would depend completely on your starting weight and height. If he was several inches taller and came down from 18 to 11 stone then it probably wouldn't be. 11 stone at 6' 1" is light but it isn't unhealthy or anything tbh, for someone 6' 6" on the other hand..
