Good Enough for him.

He obviously started dealing on a certain organisation's turf.

• Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,790 ✭✭✭cornbb

That sort of sh*t shouldn't happen, regardless of whether or not the guy was a drug dealing scumbag. This sort of vigilanteism was probably orchestrated by competing scumbags. They need to learn to trust their police force, and if they don't think the PSNI are up to scratch then they need to do something about that.

The photo is kinda funny though! :D

No, they need stronger legislation.

So they must tar and feather the politicians.

Im all for tarring and feathering politicians.
whatever country or political mindset they are from

I think drug dealing is the lowest of the low, but the scum who tarred and feathered him are no better. When people start taking the law into their own hands society suffers.

Heh, Heh, great pics! I'd love to do that to some scum too, like a big wall of them each with a placard saying things like:

"I like speeding around town in my boy racer wagon."

or more realistically,

"I bought the new Shakira album."

Still, though. Taking the law into your own hands makes things worse, usually causing someone to eventually wind up in hospital, or worse!

I have to say, this is absolutely terrible and I really can't agree with it. The tar might leave a permanent mark on the footpath leaving a really unsightly eyesore.

a judge made someone wear a placard saying that recently cant remember if it was here or blighty but I approved

Frankie Gallagher, of the Ulster Political Research Group, said: "The UDA told the local community to go to the police about this. The community responded in the way it did because it had no confidence in the police."
Translation:
UDA is selling drugs there, so they tell them to ask the cops to sort it out. No doubt no-one will try to sell drugs there again, without paying "protection" money.

If he was guilty, then good enough for him. However, like many have said, it's probably just a turf war.
I say we bring back the stocks. The thought of spending a day or two in those things while people pelt you with food would be a good deterrant.

Indeed. I hope the local residents can see through the UDA's propaganda crap.

I don't care if it was done by rival drug dealers or concerned residents, as long as he actually is a drug dealer he deserved it (though whether he is or not is another matter).

In fairness id reckon the CD booklet is worth every penny if you want to judge books by their covers and such :)

republicans used to do this to scumbags and dealers etc and i'm all for it.but this was done as a UDA PR stunt that they are anti-drugs when in reality they weren't getting their share from this guys profits.the uda are amoung the biggest dealers in ireland

brothertotz,it wont come off after washing,in other cases of this the scumbags are left with the tar on them for couple weeks then it starts coming off.it staying for a wee while makes sure the scumbag gets embarressed wherever he goes

I'm sure considering where it happened, that it's not 'goodwilled victimised residents' vs. drug-dealing scumbag, but rather a scumbag v scumbag thing.

To kick the **** out of someone or shoot them is one thing, but when torture comes into it, you're no rookie.

i doubt it, i got the feeling from reading that story that he was probbley dealing more than just green and the residents did not like that much so they warned him

There was something in the article which made me think it was the residents and not rivals. It was the fact they sent pics to local media.
However, logic dictates that this sort of thing only happens in turf wars.

i have to say that tar and feathers are deliciously retro, and so in this season!

So what do you think, while I don't advocate violence or taking the law into your own hands I do find it hard to have a great deal of sympathy

Now that is justice........ Good enough for him, I've no sympathy at all....

Its a good idea hands up for setting up our own little group and and any scanger who beats up or steals from a board member we'll round them up and tar and feather them then stick the "making of" vid up on youtube and just watch the crime rate drop :)

Snake ;)

Wasn't Johnny Adare and the rest of his family brought before the courts on severe drug charges?

Anyone else think it rich that the newspaper (supposedly) just stood there and took feathers instead of trying to help the man who was being attacked?

This is what I'm thinking too, that the only reason they acted was he was dealing to their customers.

Took feathers? ;p
I doubt it was the media who took the photo's, more likely the people who did it/some onlooker.

The UDA have been involved in drug dealing for years. Any 'action' taken by them againt drug dealers has to be taken with several pinches of salt.

Maybe residents did approach them to 'do sometjing about it' but its the height of hypocrisy.

Instance 1:
UDA: Hi ya, listen we hear you're a heroin dealer, so you know how this works sir, we want 1000 a months protection please buddy.
Dealer 1: Yeah, why not, I'll sort that out for ya's.
UDA: Thank you so much, by the way we have a load of china white coming in next month we'll give you a good rate and listen if anyone gives you any hassle you just come talk to us and we'll beat thier elderly mother into a bloody pulp and shoot them in the leg, ok?
Dealer 1: Ok no problem.
UDA: What a nice guy.

Instance 2:
UDA: Hi ya, listen we hear you're a heroin dealer, so you know how this works sir, we want 1000 a months protection please buddy.
Dealer 2: What? **** off will ya, I don't want anything to do with you murdering scumbags.
UDA: You have been a bane to this community for too long, you're poisining our kids, GRAB HIM!!!!

To the people that said it's what he deserves if he was actually a drug dealer....well thats what the courts are there for, to decide if someone is guilty or innocent, its not up to pathetic terrorist wanna be plastic gangster losers that want to feel like big men to make that call. Just look at all the people that were dragged into the street by the CPAD/PIRA and beaten to within an inch of thier lives because they got into an argument with some provo **** in a pub one night over a spilled pint and was labeled a dealer as justification.

This type of behaviour is ridiculous. If somebody wants drugs they will get them somewhere. If people are so scared that drug dealers will ruin their children. They obviously have no faith in how they brought there children up and have not taught them enough about the subject.

I think if every parent who caught there kid taking drugs were to tar and feather their children rather than the dealer, the kid would think twice about using again

Patrick Quinn (32) was also accused of being a drug dealer after his murder on September 29, 2000 as he sat drinking in the Depot Bar in Magherafelt, Co Derry, though his family and friends strongly denied the claim.

Also, look up info on the IRA's "Direct Action Against Drugs". Killed people who sold drugs. Ironic, when most of the money the 'RA got was from that area.
