But UL orientation is the 10th of September? Thats why they sent it out so early..

Didnt get anything from UCC yet.

Got a load of info from RCSI, but then again, I had to send in my final acceptance, registration fees, that sort of thing, by today.. smaller college though so it's probably a lot easier to get everything done quickly!

    No, nothing - NUIM

NUI Galway - nothing. Starting September 10th so I'm a bit worried.

NUIG- Nothing either getting a bit anxious at this stage to be honest!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,676 ✭✭✭genericgoon

Nothing from NUIG here either. I think the fact that people could change their mind after accepting an offer up until today has delayed sending out anything about registration etc.

I got all my stuff back in June because I had a vacant place application and I had also applied to a private college.

For TCD 3rd - 7th September "You should receive your information pack from Trinity this week with all Orientation Week information. During this week you need to register and attend various meetings which will help you in getting to know Trinity College better. "

ok I read that post and assumed that the 3rd - 7th of september was all of a sudden orientation week. Or that some some sort of registration was required on that week.

In a bit of a panic I reconsulted the site to find that orientation week is actually just another name for fresher's week and it is definitely starting on the first of october.

sorry i just found that post quite misleading :o

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,504 ✭✭✭Nehpets

Oops, I understand how you thought that.

3rd - 7th is when we get our orientation pack (I think) which gives us the information about Orietnation Week (October)

Nothing from NUIM yet....although the orientation week doesn't even start for another 3 weeks, so maybe thats why.

Yeah I got some literature from NUIM, but it had nothing to do whatsoever with when we start or registration, it wasn't even mentioned.

I got nothing from UCC today even though they said that we would today, looks like they sent it yesterday and we will recieve it tomorrow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,149 ✭✭✭ZorbaTehZ

Anyone going to NUIG - you will see on their site that it says that the info packs won't be sent out until early september (ie next week).

Ya, i say we should get our UCC stuff tomorrow, it makes sense as some people including me only accepted the course on Tuesday. So they probaly will send them all out together, today, to get them for tomorrow.

Yeah, was nice of them to organise a book of questions and A-Z....answered a few of my questions as well.

Have to wait, what? 5 working days for the PIN and other info though.

By Wednesday after accepting the offer I had all the UCD info. By now I'm fully registered, absolutely everything done. All I need to do is show up and I'm away.

Got mine, maybe you'll get yours tomorrow? It's a booklet and a thing at the back which you must return by post to confirm you're attending your Orientation day.

They could just be sending them in alphabetical order. Makes more sense as I'm sure An Post have a maximum daily capacity that they can accept and also UCC are probably limited by the number of staff they have working in the admissions office.

I considered that, but my surname starts with C.....(and my first name with A for that matter!) I'm sure it'll come tomorrow. If not, maybe I'll give them a call.

Oh dear God, I got my registration info this morning - it's 09:30, the day after my Debs!!

Oh God, that sucks big time, at least this way you can make an entrance and they will remember you. I say go straight from the Debs anyway!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 428 ✭✭Selphie

Hurray, it came *sits back to read* I see orientation is from the 17th - 21st. At this rate, I'm going to be asking for practically all of September off work. 8th - 17th for holidays, 20th and 21st for the grads. I'll need the 18th off for Orientation....methinks they won't be too happy with all these days being taken off....

Aw, thats pretty suckish! Mine is the morning of my grads, which isnt so bad! hehe, at least you can show up in style. Not too many people will be able to say they went to their orientation in a tux!
