Unable to access web sites using IE 7

Hi

Having some some trouble using my new laptop the operating system is windows vista and the browser is IE 7. The problem is that i can't access some web sites it just fails to load them e.gbebo. I have checked the Parental settings in the control panel for web sites that might have been restricted. Also changed the settings in IE 7 and put security to low but still no joy.
Any ideas would be great.

With IE 7.0 have you checked:
1. Tools
2. Internet options
3. Privacy
4. Sites
5. Managed websites

Any blocked sites on this list that will not open for you? If so, you can remove them in Managed Websites.

Checked that all ready blue and there are no web sites listed here.

Do you have a firewall installed?
Do you have an Anti-Virus program installed?
Do you have a parental control program installed or features on something else enabled?
Why dont you just use Firefox?

Also, question. I assume its just that certain sites that are blocked?

Yup just certain sites.
Think there is a firewall.
Also has norton Anti virus software
Will downloading Firefox solve this problem?

Some sites are just not loading and IE 7.0 is giving you an error message? Or is your access simply denied cause you cannot pull up sites you know are there?

Access simply denied cause you cannot pull up sites you know are there.Just tried the machine on a different network and it seems ok now. Any ideas why its not working on the other network.

Is the network that you can't get onto bebo a college or work one, by any chance? Both have been known to put bebo on their blacklist.

Some ISPs have parental controls too that block certain sites. Are you paying for the service or is someone else? Wardriving?

Its a work network yet was able to access that site off another user laptop. Would using firefox fix this??
