To all those that are in work at the moment, what is it that you do? How do you get away with reading and posting on Boards all the time. My excuse is that I'm sick today, but theres no way I could ever get to be on boards in work, it'd be too obvious that I'm messing about. Let me know how y'all seemingly manage to get away with it.

Just work like a cúnt the day before something is due in. If you don't get it done people will see working like a man possessed and thing you're are brilliant or they'll check you're history and fire you.

Well, I do very little at work and since being an IT Tech I get to go around the proxy server leaving me free to roam the interweb.

lazy management tbh and lack of motivation as I dislike my job

in a cube at the mo so very few people can see my comp

I also have F1 to F4 mapped as buttons to change the environment on my machine so if I hear anyone coming I just hit F1 usually.

No one in my office understands what I do so they just let me do it ... and presume I'm doing it all day.

I must be one of the major dossers judging by my PPD (posts per day) count.

Apparently i work in Purchasing......my ass. pain in it at the moment.

I ran out of work to do this morning and i asked the boss and he had nothing to give me so he can see me typing and clicking away. he always can. dunno how he hasn't reefed me yet. (And the rest of them) VERY easygoing Boss!

After the Builders holidays it hasnt picked up. apparently it will next month.
Ive been dossing pretty much non-stop for the last 8 or so months. just so quiet.

I used to always come on whenever we went to the computer room in school, and just flick to Word or whatever we were supposed to be doing when the teacher walked by (I was usually miles ahead of everyone anyway).

But then they went and blocked boards...

Then when I got a job in an office there over the summer I used to come on 'cos my desk was in a corner and nobody could see what I was doing. :)

    .
Yeah, pretty much the same as me.

Some days I'm busier than others though, still, if I wanted to I could generally be finished my work by midday.

Boards just helps fill up the gaps, so I can flip into a work screen when someone comes near me.

I actually though my post count would be alot higher. But I basically do work when it is givin to me, if they dont give me work i dont work simple as that. Though I'm not even a permant employee yet and my ^ month probationary review is up in a few weeks. If they check my internet usage I think its safe to say I'm out the door.

My ppd would be higher but I've only really started posting since I started work placement so the vast majority would have been accumulated in the past five or six months.

Especially with a near 20 post a day average. I'm developer too and it is easy to give yourself free time once you exaggerate the complexities of a project and make it a two week job when it’s really a two day job.

Soon it will be back to posting in lectures, muahaha. Don't get paid for that though. :/

This place should help make college fly by........and most likely be the cause of me failing my course. :(

Not at all, the online forae of discussion is a far more stimulating arena in which spend work hours....

Plus we've only one PC, one desk, and one big ****-off chair.

    All mine.

I have about 2 hours of work to do in a day which means I spend at least 4 hours messing around trying to amuse myself.

    I'm a P.A. by the way.

I'm constantly working/doing nothing. i have it down to a fine art of doing a minute of each at a time.

I was meant to do something over two days that took an hour. Stuff like that is really handy.
