OK batterys charge everything is working except the engine:rolleyes:
I fill the tank with fuel and go to start, the engine won't turn over so i take off the glowplug and the engine spins with plenty of power from the little electric motor but when i put the glow plug back on the same thing happens it just wont turn over.
Its NOT flooded i know this as when I took out the glow plug several times I span the engine upside down and no fuel came out. Im guessing the engine is too tight, would a hairdryer have any effect on this?
BTW the fuel is OK and plug is OK and it is a new OS 18TM.

Is that your new engine for the revo?
If so. Then I would deffo say too tight.

    Try the Hairdryer

    OR

Loosen the glow plug slighty to relieve some of the compression, If it starts then tighten it up again immediatly. ;)

My guess is that the battery in your EZ-Start is shot.

No its not, I know because when i took off the glow plug and pressed the button and I tryed to stop the flywheel with my fingers(ouch) and then a spanner, it kept going and made sparks from the spanner.

@Vectra, i also tried loseing the glowplug but that didn't work, only thing now is the hair drier:(

So it cranks 100% with no plug at all, but once the plug is in - even slightly loosened out - there's nothing? Could be a short on the wiring harness.

Ah no that wouldn't be an issue, a short on the wiring harness. I just think now its too tight and needs warming up with a heir dryer.

But if it cranks over without a plug, and doesn't even with the plug loosened, then I doubt a hair dryer would help. Good luck in anycase.

The hair dryer will heat up the engine, the engine will expand and then it will b able to start. get me drift man?
    Thanks for the help though:)

Yes I know, but if it cranks over without the plug, then it's not too tight. Give the battery a fresh/peak charge, else bin it and get a new one.

In a nut shell. the engine is tight and has alot of commpression with the plug on, now it has NO commresion with the plug off. the EZ start nearly toke my fingers off and can make sh!t of a spanner with the fly wheel spinning, now that is a good working EZ start.....

I would agree with plug here
That battery should give it some swing.
You say without the plug it cranks then its not too tight..??

Where did you come up with that?

I know it can be tight(ish) but once the glo plug is removed Can I ask you where would the engine get the compression from to make it that tight?

i thought sumn said it was from an old car

Old Revo ( well,, not that old ) New engine.

    @ Plug.
Wonder if that will suit my CRT ?

Anyone here know if that starter box will suit truggys other than the revo or is it specific ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,690 ✭✭✭✭vectra

Just checked out that starter box. Specifically for a Revo. But hey. Maybe you will use it yourself? :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,248 ✭✭✭Plug

It might fit, you can try.
If not not, thats why the postman was invented;)

    No, its ok bud,
I asked the Pete at Bolton Model Mart tonight,
He said 100% not suited to the CRT :(

    Here are his words.
The starter box is pretty much useless for anything in the world other
than a Traxxas Revo - which has a very specific set up for using on
    starter boxes

So, Looks like its no good to me..
    No problem anyway
