well im 26 and 6.2 in height and weight 290 pounds but i dont look it but thats neither here nor there

im serious about shifting the weight so is this diet / excercise ok

typical day i eat the following :

2 x weetabix with skimmed milk , fruit during day ( maybe 2 apples , banana , orange , and ham , turkey , low fat cal coleslaw roll and then chicken , pasta , dolmio stur in sauce ( little bit just to add taste ) 2 litres of water

thats a typical daily diet , i know its not mad healthy but beats what i used to eat

    excercise consists of this ok

    Monday : 40-45 cardio , 40-45 weights
    Tuesday : 45 mins cardio
    Wednesday : same as monday
    Thursday : same as tuesday
    Friday same as mon-wed
    Sat : 45 mins cardio

i know its not greatest diet but i think i'll lose weight if i stick to that

Im new to the gym scene, but from the advice i was given here by people who know what they are talking about is to not do cardio before weights.

Also because you are doing weights I think it would be wise to have more protein in your diet. Try and eat 6 small meals a day. This can help your metabolism.

Im sure someone like Hanly or Dragon could help you out. Good luck with the weight loss.

    Anthony,

What exactly are you doing with the weights and cardio. As a beginner, everything will work, but you can always train more efficiently and get a lot more benefits.

For general diet tips I'd say drop the wheat and milk as much as you can, eating more meat, veg and fruit.

If you've any specific questions fire away!

    Colm
