    Hi all,
I'd like to announce something we'll be running in a couple of weeks time. For those of you interested in getting fit doing something a wee bit different. Basically, our new gym is almost ready and to celebrate and to get the word out there about the new place, we'll be holding an open day on Saturday 1st of September. The idea is for people to come along and to try some training with a few of the guys, see the gym, get some info, have a cuppa, maybe a muffin (muffins are always a goer at KO :D) and to see if martial arts is something they'd like to do. All of our training sessions are open to all in any case but this will be a very informal opportunity to see what we're about and to try a little bit yourself.

    When? Saturday September 1st
Where? KO Martial Arts, Unit 6, Glasnevin Business Centre, Ballyboggan Road.
    What?
    11am-12pm- Kids age 5-10
    12pm-1pm- Kids aged 11-15
    1pm-2pm- Adult's Kickboxing
    2pm-3pm- Adults BJJ/MMA
    How much? FREE!

    Hope to see you there!

Roper - Do you plan to hold any classes on Saturday? According to the timetable on your website, there's only a "Comp Team" class from 5-6pm on Saturday.

I'm based in Tyrellstown (Dublin 15) and I think you're the nearest MMA gym to me. I'd especially be interested in wrestling and boxing/kickboxing.

    Cheers,

    PAUL

    t-ha,
    Nice map/pic combo!

    Paul,
Afraid there's no plans for Saturday classes right now. The Saturday sessions are for guys with upcoming competitions to get extra sparring in, there's no instruction on those days. There may be some afternoon/morning classes in the offing in 2008 though. For your specific interest, any night we train wuld cover those aspects.

    Cheers for the reply.

The reason I asked was because none of your weekday class times suit me. I usually finish at either 7, 8 or 9pm on weekdays. :(

    Hi Roper,

Im interested in joining a class of some sort, I hope to get to the open day.

In the post you say ''try some training'' is there any specific clothing/gear needed?

Sorry I didn't see this before dancor.

Just bring loose fitting tracksuit bottoms or shorts, and a t-shirt.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Hey folks, this is on tomorrow afternoon.

For anyone thinking "I'd like to go, but I'm not fit" or "I'd like to go, but I'll get battered"-
This day is for total beginners to try something new and to have a look at our set-up. A bit like driving, we were all beginners once and everyone there will be there to help and assist in any way they can. It'll be a bit of fun.

Someone pm'ed me about extra fitness classes and I never got back to them. I'll reply here for anyone with the same question. ALL of our classes build fitness, some might say extreme fitness (I know I would!) and you will get in great shape doing combat sports. Tomorrow will be light though, bearing in mind some people might have hangovers!

Looking forward to seeing you there.
