get healthy and toned

    alright basically i've always had awful health. bladder, kidney, throat infections, asmatha, gastro reflux to boot. im only 20 so i've finally decided enough is enough and want not only to tone up but to get healthier.

    i was big into gymnastics/dance as a teenager but have now found hot yoga as my ideal exercise. my plan is to go 2-3 times a week and since it burns roughly 1600 cals in a hr and you sweat like a pig i am thinking this is good enough? i've a good big of muscle anyway naturally. i walk everywhere also.

    my diets where i REALLY fall down. i'm always busy as a student and typically skip meals (very bad i know). i generally like healthy food but it seems like alot of preparation needs to be done. any tips or meal plan suggestions?

    i dont smoke and only drink on special occasions since its not really my thing.
    my biggest vice is fizzy drinks and im convinced its playing its part in making me unhealthy. Any tips on how to ween myself of it? i know it sounds silly but i've literally been spoon fed coke since 3 months. im addicted.

    im a size 10-12 and i have a small frame (at least thats what the person in the gym said years ago). plus in 5"4/5?, but i've distinct curves being large breasted.

    so anyone got any suggestions? im really serious about this and its definately not about appearance for me as im quite happy bodywise most of the time. i just want to be health. any time i manage to stock the fridge with heathy food i just seem weaker and quickly go back to my trusted carbs. HELP!

    I think you might be overestimating the number of calories burned in an hour of yoga for your size and shape.

    i could be wrong but im going to say that it is probably very hard / impossible to burn 1600 cals an hour running a marathon not to mind doing yoga


    edit; carbs are not necessarily unhealthy by the way read the nutrition stickies and when you decide on a diet plan throw out any food that is not conducive to that plan

    its just what my instructure told me, its Bikram Yoga which is done in a room heated to 105 degrees Farenheit, which allows you to go into the postures deeper and safer, minimising the risk of injury.

    its actually 90mins my bad. i took her word for it but it might have been bull for all i know

    1600kcal in 90mins is still 1066kcal per hour. I remember hearing about some cyclist doing over 1000 per hour as though it was incredible. I would have thought 800 was the max most could manage, and that would be all out running.

    Cannot imagine any yoga getting near that, at 800 intensity your heart would be going like the clappers.

    Could be some bull**** calculation, you lose 1/2lb of weight in the 90mins of hot yoga (due to sweating), then they equate this to 1/2lb of fat, around 1750kcal.
