Why? Surely two good comedies is better than one, regardless of country of origin.

the IT Crowd was one of the highlights of the sit-com season last year. Really!

Hopefully they'll be lots of SHOUTING!

I thought it was barely ok to start with. But watching it a few times it grows on you. The relationship manager hmmmm.

I only watched it for the first time last night on Channel 4. Have to say, I was missing out! Good show.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,404 ✭✭✭qwertplaywert

The first time the goth appeared was comedy gold.
Cant wait for season 2 :D

I heard the us version would have 1 of the 2 main actors playing one of the leads, not sure which though......

    Memorable quote:

    "I have a plan"
"A plan you say.... I'd better put on my larger glasses"

    Memorable Scenes:
    "The stress machine"

Denham answers the phone and then shouts, "Hello? I can't hear you. I'm wearing earplugs".

"I love how the smoke seems to be rising from the screen"

"Millions of people have died from stress, in the short time I've been speaking"

Denham is the best character. Can't wait for series two.

Gonna go watch it now infact!

Ye thats why i don't want the american one to be good because it might be funny but it wont be the same type of funny, different writers...
If its popular in america that show would generate more money than then english one and the main actors might just go do the american one because it pays more

    I can't wait :D

    SITCOM: The IT Crowd
    On: Channel 4 (140)
Date: Friday 24th August 2007 (starting in 4 days)
    Time: 21:30 to 22:00 (30 minutes long)

The Work Outing. Series 2, episode 1.
The BAFTA-nominated comedy, written and directed by Graham Linehan (Father Ted, Black Books) and produced by Ash Atalla (The Office, Man Stroke Woman), returns for a second series.
When the dashing Philip (Jamie Michie) from the sixth floor pops in to ask Jen (Katherine Parkinson) to the theatre, she accepts right away. But, to her annoyance, so do Moss (Richard Ayoade) and Roy (Chris O'Dowd), turning what could have been a date into a work outing. As the evening spirals towards disaster, she wonders whether Philip is everything he claims to be….

Not a classic episode but a decent number of laugh out loud moments. There's nothing like turning a cripple out of his chair for a giggle it seems.

I'm a bit of a late bloomer on this one, I watched a couple eps last year online and thought it was meh, but I watched the repeats they were showing on C4 leading up to the new series and enjoyed them.

Last nights show had several moments, but Moss' deadpannery when Jen turns around to see him behind the bar was top drawer.

Is Chris Morris coming back for this one, big fan, etc

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,012 ✭✭✭munkeehaven

yeah its the kind of show that takes a while to get into,i was the same when i initially saw it i didn't think it was particularly fascinating but since i can watch it anytime now i'm liking it ..

I thought from the clip for next weeks show it was actually Chris Morris's funeral that they were attending, maybe he's faked his own death

The first episode of the second season was funnier than anything in the first season...

    .. hilarious!

Everything from the play ("I LOVE WILLIES") to Chris O Dowd's face going up in the wheelchair.

    Brillant!
