Here's the draw for the D1 €1,000 exclusive freeroll for boards.ie members, [Link to original thread] I've tried to give everyone the day they were available, if there's any drop outs or problems with days etc. please let myself or D1club know, or just post it up here. I could nearly guarantee the Reserves will get a game, I've left myself out because I didn't want to bump anyone else but I'm fairly confident I'll get to play when some people cry off.

You can still get in Lloyd, gerry87 has dropped out, and I wouldn't think he'll be the last drop out if the HU champoinship is anything to go by, want me to put you down.

That's €31.25 of +EV that you won't get back....on the other hand it's also approximately 6 hours of your life to play with.....:p

Edit: Damn it's still open according to Ste. Disregard my cynicism please....

Reedit: Just to say it's great to have these Boards exclusive freerolls but I'd prefer it was a 50 buyin or something with €1k added to the prizepool. It stops people pulling out and it makes it a bit tastier to win it.

It starts at 7:30 each night, there'll be Sit and Go's or cash games on afterwards AFAIK, I think it's whatever the players themselves want, but I'm not sure, the D1 Club will confirm this I'm sure, I think they're getting a regular Schedule for the table set-up soon.

I think its a good idea Olly. It'd be nice if everyone went for it

its not that hard to take my money these days Jeff!

20 would be preferable but if everyone else at the table wants 50, sure I'll go along with that!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭shoutman

50 sounds good to me for the monday night. maybe 225/125/50 payout?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,537 ✭✭✭Ste05

I can't speak for the Club as to changing it to a €1k added tourney, but I can't see there being a problem if everyone (or large enough majority to keep the number at 32) agrees to make it that sort of tournie, and I'm sure they could keep the money and pay out the whole Final table or whatever.

But again, I have nothing to do with the Club (I'm just doing some of this organisation for them) so I can't comment officially, but I'll shoot them off an e-mail incase they don't check the thread.

One thing I know though, is that the whole point of this Freeroll is to get some exposure for the club and the table, so if there was 32 guaranteed people, I can't see there being a problem.

It might make it easier if there was a comment from the players as to the buy-in they wanted, so that when someone from the club comes to check the thread, they can see some sort of consensus.

I'll obviously play if it's €50 or whatever buy-in if someone wants to drop out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,638 ✭✭✭Iago

I think people signed up to play predominantly because it was freeroll. I don't think the terms should change after table selection. If they want to do a further tournament with 32 players over 4 nights with a €50 buyin and €1K added with the final on a saturday, great I'll play in that too.

I think this should be left as is though.

In saying that I'm happy to pay X for a prize on the Monday night game, although apart from paying the bubble (3rd) you're just further rewarding the two of us that get through. Not that I'm complaining ;)

Good point, I know I always think it looks bad when someone changes the rules mid way, but no-one from the D1 Club has seen the thread yet, so I suppose it's just a wait and see, but certainly it doesn't look like there's going to be much consensus for any change like this and so I can't see it happening.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,323 ✭✭✭Hitchhiker's Guide to...

i'm fine re paying whatever on Monday night. Think it is pay-day, although i'm not 100% sure!

to keep it fair to people who might not want to pay in, it should probably be that the, say, 50 buy-in, should be limited to those who want to pay it. i.e. say only 6 people want to pay 50 euro, then those 6 people are in a seperate side-tournie depending on their finishing position.

so, if e.g. i don't want to pay 50 euro, i am only part of the freeroll part of the tournie, and my finishing position is disregarded as part of the payout for the people who did pay 50 euro.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 450 ✭✭Blip

Yeah, You might get alot more people dropping out as they did sign up for a Freeroll.

I'd be interested in paying €20 on the night and treating it as a STT just to add some spice, but if it stays as a freeroll, it stays as a freeroll, no probs.

BTW any advancements on the blind structure as they would have to stay the same for each qualifying night. Maybe changing for the final?

I agree with this - we'll sort it on the night. Would be nice for the qualifiers to get something definate out of this

I've sent PM's to everyone down to play so they can confirm that they can attend, just incase people forget about this or don't notice this thread.

So as per the PM, if you haven't already confirmed in this thread, can you just say whether or not you can attend, if not, we have reserves who can take your place.

    Thank you,

    Ste05.

I've been onto the D1 Club and they should be posting up the Structure ASAP.

I'm happy with whatever but I think a lot of people might have signed up only because it was a freeroll so might be put off by having to pay in and they would probably feel under presure to have to buy in on the night if everyone else is.

    PS confirmed...

I work with pwhite and I have asked for him to have that evening free so he should be ok as well. He's on holiday right now so probably won't be checking in too often.

Thanks to everyone that has signed up for this.

As this was originally advertised as a FREE 1,000 euro Freeroll we would prefer to keep it as such. There will be either a 50 + 10 Sit and Go or a cash game each night after the Freeroll for who ever is interested.

In relation to the Blind levels they will start off at 25/50 and go up every 15 minutes. The blinds will go up as follows:

    25/50,
    50/100,
    75/100,
    100/200,
    150/300,
    200/400,
    300/600,
    500/1000,
    1000/2000,
    2000/4000.

While 15 minutes may not seem too long, the fact that we are using a computerised table means that there is a much better structure than a regular live tournament and we will be able to play more hands per hour.

We will be introducing a full schedule soon and we will keep boards.ie members fully informed when we have it all worked out. If anyone has any suggestions in relations to what you would like to see us offering, please do not hesitate in making suggestions.
