Starting to lift weights

    Hey all,

I want to start doing free weights properly and get bigger as I've been using the machines in the gym before with no set program or anything and it made no difference really but recently I've started doing pull-ups and pushups regularly and found they made much more difference than before.

What I'm looking for is a recommended workout for a beginner. I imagine it would be mostly compound exercises but I'm not sure how to divide them up in the different days. Any help would be appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Eamonn
