Im fairly new to the gym - only 2 weeks. Anyway 2 weeks ago i was almost 14 and a half stone. This week im down to 13 stone and 12 pounds. I wasn't expecting to lose it that quick cos im so unfit.
Im doing some cardio - the bike, threadmill and the rower and a few weights on the machines.
I thought the weights build muscles which weighs more than fat. So i wasn't expecting a difference on the scales.
    Im not starving myself.
    Is this normal?

    Lisa Jane,

Listen well done. You must be doing something else in the diet area as well. Let us know the secret.

Your weight can fluctuate depending on the time of day that you measure it , also if your on any kind of diet , then you will loose alot of water weight in the first week or two

I'd say it's normal enough as you are mainly losing water.

But don't confuse weight loss with bodyfat loss so it's might be a good idea to get an instructor to test your body fat levels and maybe check every few weeks. Any gym can do this.

    First of all congrats.

    Keep it up.

Thats normal from what i have experience myself. When i cut the crap and started serious exereicse i dropped a lot of weight really fast.

From what im told a lot of it is water and some can be muslce but it all comes down to you shifting what you are doing.

Now the rate of decrease of weight will decline so dont expect that kinda numbers to keep up. Im at that stage myself when its only 1,2 or 3 lbs a week now.
