I seem to be having a problem with the setup of oracle, it installed ok, i've set all of the environment variables etc etc. The problem is with configuring the system, when I try to use 'sqlplus' I get:

    ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Linux Error: 2:No such file or directory

I had a google around and the problem seems to be with tnsnames.ora. I've never used oracle before (i'm a big mysql fan), can someone help me out here?

    Thanks all! :)
