is it an impedance scales? they measure AFAIK % body fat rather than visceral fat. the theory behind it basically is that it measures the electrical impedance of your body, fat has a different resistance to muscle and from that it estimates your body fat %. Hydration levels and what not really mess up readings so i wouldnt worry about it loads.

From what I've read it tells me ,Weight ,Body fat% ,Total body water % ,Muscle mass ,BMR ,Visceral fat.

Weight ,Body fat% ,Total body water % ,Muscle mass ,BMR ,Visceral fat.

Okay, now your weight is measured just as a scales measures your weight. Water, muscle and fat have different electrical impedances. It sends an electrical current through your body (the hand and leg one is more accurate as it has more measurements to work with) and estimates the % each one makes up. now if its a hand and leg scales then it may measure the % of fat located around your internal organs and estimate that*.
Does it actually give a reading for muslce mass? or is it lean body mass (as that would also include bones and what not)

*now i studied electrical engineering and my thoughts on this would be that yes the impedance of various components of the body can be estimated but it is not an exact science. I am sure it the accuracy is improved with better products but would be very difficult and expensive to get a very accurate reading.

okay so it may of just estimated the visceral fat based on your total body fat. which and i mean no offense by this is quite high for a guy. However it could be that the scales is not accurate. Dragan is always saying that there are 2 types of body fat readings taken from the mirror happy and not happy. if your happy forget about and if your not do something about it.

Do you tend to carry excess weight around your abdomen? if so this would be measured as visceral fat.
