Hi guy’s ive never posted in this forum before but am a member on boards for a little while now mainly on the poker forum.
My problem is that over the last say year and a half I have been working a full time job and playing poker in most of my spare time ohhh yeah a trying to be a father. Anyhow before I start playing poker on a regular basis and my fitness levels are gone very bad, not over weight or anything but just unfit /
I use to go the gym on a fairly regular basis before this poker epidemic [lol] almost every day actually, now im very lucky if I go once fortnightly and that would be just for a swim.
Im just looking for some suggestions on how to start from scratch again i.e motivation – foods. Food is actually a big part of my down fall as you can imagine sitting around poker tables most nights and just eating finger foods and not to mention the lack of sleep, im like a ghost going around doesn’t help at all.
So if anyone has any suggestion I’d welcome them.
Ohh yeah not sure if its important but im currently using the TF gym in Malahide so open to feed back around this also.

edit - not looking to gain weight or loose just a few suggestions on getting my motivation back and have planned to cut down on poker before anyone says the obvious...

....and have planned to cut down on poker before anyone says the obvious...

I think this is the vital thing. You can plan ally ou want, but until you get up from the table and make the plan a reality you're not going to get any fitter.

If you are lacking motivation then why not set yourfelt a goal. It might be trying to lift a certain weight by christmas or to run a marathon. Then figure out what you need to dot o achieve it and break it down into little steps.

There is loads of information re eating well and exercising in the stickies. Read through them and come back with any questions you have. People tell it as it is around here but they are a very helpful, knowledgable bunch.

I'd also recommend finding a gym buddy, someone who'll be annoyed if you skive off a few sessions. That's not a bad motivator.

I know it's kinda lame but you should also think about packing your own finger food...cucumber sticks/carrot sticks, celery etc. for your poker nights. Stay away from the tortilla chips and more importantly don't stick those veggie sticks in any dips lying around.

Think about cutting down on the amount of poker you play if your really serious.
