Vote here for Album of the Week

Please vote for an album you think should be Album Of The Week.

One vote per person, each week. That vote can be backing up someone else's vote, so you can say "I would vote for that album too" but you can't vote again untill next week.

You can keep voting the same album each week if you want, but you can't vote for album that were already album of the week.

A new album of the week will be chosen each Monday. If there's a draw, I'll cast the deciding vote.

I love the random play album thing on my MP3 player, it's giving me all manner of wonderful surprises! I nominate Pantera - The Great Southern Trendkill as it popped into my ears unannounced whilst heading home this morning.

As typical as it is, I have to say Metallica - And Justice For All. While it's not Master Of Puppets, it still has some great tunes, fantastic guitar work (especially the twin guitar stuff) and just sounds much rawer than Master Of Puppets.

It has some great guitar work but I find the wierd mix with it's absence of bass and horrible squelchy drums make it very hard to listen to.

Orange Goblin - Healing Through Fire. seriously, listen to that.

getting in to some stoner/blues rock. like Down (gawd bless Phil Anselmo) and Crowbar to name but two.

I was going to ask - how long does voting go on for, and when does it end - I was going to suggest a 24 or 48 hour period of voting say on a Thursday or Friday?

It's album of the week. The voting lasts the entire week, a winner is picked and we start voting again. You can vote at any time.

    Machine Head - The Blackening.

i think it's horrid that no one's nominated anything by opeth, so i'll say "blackwater park" (it's more well rounded then deliverance IMO)..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,655 ✭✭✭Ph3n0m

    New voting yet?

To balance off the metal from last week - how about Guns N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction. Just listening to Nightrain from the ritz awesome stuff.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,199 ✭✭✭Shryke

I'll nominate Era Vulgaris by QotSA. I don't expect it to get much support but I think it's fantastic so there goes!

how about Guns N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction.
I'll vote for this too! This is one of my all-time favourites. Appetite For Destruction was the second album I bought (the first being Use Your Illusion I). In fact, now that I think about it, I've bought it at least twice since then :) - Once to replace the original tape that met it's demise through an overly-zealous player way back in the early 90's and on CD a few years later once I'd saved up enough pennies to buy one of those snazzy new CD players.
