How to eat veg when you don't like veg

I know veggies are vital and we should eat tonnes of the things, but I've never been a big fan of them and really struggle to eat enough.

I know there's supplements around like Greens+ (only in the States though as far as I can see) so I was wondering does anybody here know of a different supplement available here that does the same job?

I do eat some veg but just not nearly enough and something olike this would be a huge help.

Also, what's the best brand of fish oils out there, I think I'm going to start taking those bad boys as well.

    Hi there,

check out this guy -> www.juicemaster.com

He has some super recipes where the likes of Broccolli, celery, spinach, cucumber and more are blended with fruits to make it taste like a summer fruit smoothie.
He also has some very good books out, one I recommend is called Slim for life.
He has some extreme views about some foods, but well worth a read for a different perspective!

You just need to keep eating them.
It will take you approx 15 times of trying a new food before they like them.
I've tried it myself and it seems to work. Blue cheese was something I really wanted to like, but just couldn't stomach. Now I love it.
And all the smelly veg I wouldn't touch as a kid - cabbage, mushy peas, sprouts. Can't get enough of them now!

Try it and see how it works out.
What veggies in particular you don't like?

What about making vegetarian versions of dishes you like?
    Lasagne, chilli, pasta sauces etc...

    Ahah! The zen approach :)
Unfortunately it doesn't work like that, for some non veggie eaters it would like telling you to eat a bowl of dog sh1t and keep eating it until you like it.
Trust me i'm married to a vegaphobic, its a psychological issue for most and some just don't like them :p

There are more fun ways and better tasting ways to eat veg than to just hold your nose and swallow.

Smother them in some yummy sauce! Or simply mix them in with other food. Stir fry is a good example.. You have to have veg in it but should not notice you are eating veg.

A good stir fry with plenty of curry powder and chillies, yum yum.

Cook spag bol, chilli, shepherd's pie, curry etc - anything that involves a lot of sauce. Blend up a bog load of veg and lob it into the pot first to simmer. Then add all the rest of the ingredients for the sauce. You'll end up with a slightly crumbly version of the regular sauce... but you won't be able to taste the veg at all. I started doing that when my daughter was born, as a way of getting veg into her. I quickly realised that it was a handy way of getting veg I don't like into my own diet.

It could be just the way you cook em! Sounds strange i know!
But for years I was one of the "I just dont like veg" crowd until I was in a nice restaurant and they were there on my plate and I just ate them so as not to look like a picky f**ker in front of my date - and I loved them! They were crunchy and lovely - not the soggy water retainers I was used to!
May not help you - but try it!

Also - anyone who says I dont like veg - as in ALL veg (come on!) - it is purely a psychological block, a throwback to when you were a kid and mammy forced you to eat the soggy broccoli!

Try a range of veg, you will like a few and concentrate on them and in time you may develop a taste for others (you may not, but what harm, I still cant stomach a tomato or a mushroom!)

    My 2c worth!
    All the best!

Cheers people. I do eat some veg alright: Carrots, peas (frozen only thank you), cabbage (although when eating out it's usually muck), turnips (sometimes), sprouts (sometimes, but stand well back no naked flames for a few hours afterwards), parnsips, mange tout Rodney...

...but was still hoping for some sort of supplement to augment my intake considerably and also of course, for the convenience.

Alas it seems my search for a veg supplement will be, erm, fruitless (I'll get me coat)

I fully agree. I HATE spinach when my mum cooks it but eat by the forkful when out in my fave restaurant.

Also I've found LOTS of sauce/spices help...

Just stop being such a big girl's blouse and eat them. Fussy eaters really rile me.
