    Hi,

I have read the stickies and now I am a little confused on the correct % that you should have of protein, carbohydrates and fat..at present mine are
    protein...26-28%
    carbohydrates..59%
    fat...13-15%
One of teh stickies suggessted that these were the correct % if you want to gain weight! That's not what I want...I want to lose weight! I have read the other posts but it was mainly from a male perspective and I wondered whether this was different for women.

Not quite, your carbs are very high, you could try aiming for a 40: 40: 20 C:P:F ratio. though the fats should be good fats from oily fish, nuts etc

yeah my fats are from fish, usually salmon fillet poached and nuts that I add in salads or in museli...the high carbohydrates I think are from the sugars in diet yoghurt...i'll try to cut these out and switch the % so.

This sentence says a lot to me. Sugars are much worse than fat for "dieting". You may or may not be aware of this. Most people aren't.

Actually I just looked over my food log and most of my carbohydrates are actually from the museli I had for breakfast and the cup of cous cous I had for lunch. But I know what you mean about the diet yoghurt tho...I will replace it with slimline milk.

    Thanks for all the help!

Learn how to read the packs well, and understand the marketing lies. Museli with "no added sugar", could still be very high in sugars, from dried fruit. "low fat" yoghurt can be loaded with sugar so it still tastes good, similarly deserts that are "low in sugar" are usually high in fat so they still taste good.

Slimline milk still has a lot of sugar in it (lactose), more than in lilt per 100ml.

And if you are not weighing your museli I would bet you are adding a lot more than the quoted portion size on the pack.

Yep sugar free - just natural sugars. Its the kelkin one. I've tried that Alpen stuff but jeez I nearly had a sugar overdose - it was so sweet! :D

Its so hard to keep on top of it all! No its definately a cup because I measure it and add banana and the yoghurt to it.

Well I think my evening is going to be taken up making sure I have read the backs of the packets!! :D

I think I am going to have to change my breakfast choice and it is not looking at healthy as I thought it was!!
