    Commerce

    UCC

Its going to be very tight, it was 435 last year and i think i got between 420 and 450.

Completely hyped up, I did not think i was doing the same exam sometimes, when i heard it being described as the hardest exam you will ever do. I found it to be my best year in school and actually miss the place. Just work through the year in a structured way and you will be fine. Do not listen to the media or those swoty stressed out girls desribing their "ordeal". The LC is not that bad, just enjoy it.

    Maths

Business ( both of these choices are very particular to each person)

    Yes, I liked school

    Electric Picnic

    Home Economics.

    Only if I fail miserably.

    Don't know.

    Pointless question.

So let me get this straight, in order to ignite this board again, you set out a list of boring questions. Yeah, good one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,500 ✭✭✭✭cson

Wait a second boger account? Except he spelled the name backwards? A mark of evil genius if ever there was one. And secondly, how can you expect the board to be lively in the holidays? Most of us have to work you know.

Yes they can. The college decides how many students they want in a course.
It's generally always followed the pattern that if the number of places go down and demand remains relatively static, that the points will go up.

Some courses are regulated from above, but for the rest the college can decide, yes. Obviously if a college decides tomorrow to give 500 extra medicine places the Minister for Education would probably step in and open a can of whoop-ass over someone's head, but in the Universities at least they are free to do what they like in relation to the creation and deletion of courses. In Trinity, it was previously agreed that the max level of undergraduate students was set to remain at 11,500 (I think) or there abouts, but I remember reading something recently which said that this decision from 2003 or 2004 or so was changed to allow further undergraduates. Plus didn't you know that lecturers know everything?

As someone said to me before about Trinity: sure why let something like the Irish Government decide what's best for Trinity, given that relatively speaking they've only been around for a few years! There are countless arguments against this, but it's funny all the same.
