    Hi Folks,

I am an absolute newb to Linux so if, my question is basic, i do apoligse in advance.....

I want to learn a little bit about Linux and so I installed Suse 10 onto my laptop and I have had no trouble so far except for my network connection.

I have tried to configure my ethernet card, through YAST.

    Quanta Ehernet Controller

    Device Name: eth-bus-pci-0000:04:00.0
    IP Address assigned using DHCP
    Started automatically at boot
    Change Host Name via DHCP
Change Name Servers and Search List via DHCP

I am unable to connect to my eircom BB line,

Where can I look for an anwser.....

    Thanks
    Typh00n

Connect the eircom netopia router to your computer via an ethernet cable. Then, execute this command: "sudo dhclient". (I'm assuming SuSE has your user account in /etc/sudoers. If not then execute the command as root).

Afterwards do execute the following command and paste the results here: "ifconfig". If you get command not found, try "/sbin/ifconfig".
