    i usually get either:

    1)
    house special curry
    egg fly lie
    chips

    2) breasta chicken curry
    egg fly lie
    chips

sometimes i get singapore fried noodles, fried noodles or chicken balls as well. fair enough. this seems to be par for the course but my mate always gets BOILED FUKCIN RICE and beef with green peppers and black bean sauce.

what the fukc is his problem

youd have to have curry sauce with that or it'd be too dry?

Nasi Goreng with a tub of curry sauce.

    Singapore chow-mein.

Cantonese duck if I'm feeling sophisticated.

    Special curry if I'm pissed.

God, my mouth is salivating just at the thought of digging into a Chinese again. This is what I always get

    Egg Fried Rice
    Curry
Portion of Chicken Balls (Depending on the Chinese you can get some MASSIVE ones)

    MMMMMMMMMMM *runs off to chinese*

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,676 ✭✭✭✭smashey

Salted chilli chicken with fried rice and a small tub of curry sauce as the rice is too dry. The chillis my local chinese uses are mental yokes.

Alot of chineses in the North do an omelette on top of a Special Fried Rice, as well as covering it in a thick dark gravy. The omelette has the large bits of meat associated with the SFR in it.

In fact, one of the things I miss most about the North is the gravy in chinese take aways. Gravy 3in1 beats curry any day.

    Crispy Chilli Chicken
    Soup
    Skewered Chicken Satay
    Noodles

Washed down with a 6 pack of tsingtao beer

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,393 ✭✭✭✭Vegeta

    singapore fried rice
    chicken szcheaun
    boiled rice

all mixed up together = stuffed to the gills

Indian is superior food to Chinese though and I would prefer pizza also. Saying that I do love my chinese me :D

Beef curry, fried rice, prawn crackers OR Singapore noodles with extra chillis.
Oh, & a portion of salt & chilli shredded chicken to wash it all down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,863 ✭✭✭✭crosstownk

Special fried rice, chicken curry, BBQ ribs. I like to shake some crushed chilli flakes onto the chicken curry - just to make it hotter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,382 ✭✭✭petes

i wish i could be more Adventurous with Chinese. im not mad on Chinese but when i do get it i get the same stuff all the time, Chicken Satay.....Vegetable Chow mein or Veg Curry..... however...if i find a place that does Chinese/Peking dishes (Local one!!) i get King Do Chicken...gorgeous.

...and ya gotta love Shredded Chicken with Chili and salt......dunno if i'd eat a whole plate of it as main course though...

It is (allegedly) a method of cooking based on the recipes used in Singapore. Apart from Chinese, they would also have Malay, Indonesian and Thai influences.

Don't forget to add an extra splash of soy sauce when you get home.

Here's a recipe for home-made Shredded Salt & Chilli Chicken if any of you fancy trying it. I haven't tried it myself yet, but if you do let me know how you get on. (BTW - BaZmO* advises that the poaching time be reduced to 7-10 mins.)

I've just 'converted' from Chinese to Thai. Sweet baby Jesus, Thai cuisine leaves Chinese food in the bin.

A lot of Chinese take-outs are complete MSG merchants; it's really hard to find a decent one. My own sit-down fav is Crispy Duck and pancakes. Mmmmmmm.

    +1 for duck pancakes.

When I've money I love getting some duck pancakes, special curry & fried rice, and possibly a spring roll or deep fried wontons. What doesn't get eaten then, does later (or better yet, for breakfast the next morning).
