There's loads of you that don't have an avatar, there's no excuse for this other than laziness , it's a very handy thing and can make identifying posters very simple so any of you that don't have one this is your chance to rectify the situation !

Unless you import a unique one, many of the existing choices are blah. There are also duplications by members of those available, so the uniqueness is lost. A close friend on boards did my sig pic (after being resurrected from a site ban), I thought it fun, so I adopted it. Perhaps if the importation process for avatars was made easier, more members would use them?

    Custom for the win.

I identify a lot of posters by their avatar, i also like to believe that some people look like their avatars.

Avatars are great for arbitrarily deciding the gender of any given poster

I used to have the small sonic one when I first joined and noticed one other user with it so when I subscribed, I got a larger sonic one and a few months ago changed over to Miles. :)

I merely sound like my avatar

I've grown pretty attatched to my avatar, couldn't imagine any other! Apprently I look like it too. I wonder if it's the online equivalent of owners looking like their pets?

I do indeed look like a mushroom dreaming of becoming another mushroom.

I didn't want to step on anyone's toes when signing up by having the same avatar. I don't think I've visited the avatar page since.
