Heard about this on the Ray Foley show on today FM Yesterday.
Apparently Ray and Adelle both gave it a go. Niether of them are overweight or anything and they lost a loda of inches, or maybe it was CM but they lost weight doing it.
Anyone heard of it or tried it?

"Using Hypoxitherapy, you are simply combining gentle cycling and vacuum therapy from the waist downwards to produce an effective fat burning treatment. The resultant increased blood supply and circulation causes concentrated fat breakdown to take place in precisely the cellulite and fat prone areas of the hips, thighs and buttocks. Without the Hypoxi Trainer, these areas would never be the first places to be reach"

Imagine if they were to take an obese MALE subject - his stomach would be his main problem area, followed by his chest and his "love handles". The site claims that the Hypoxi Trainer would first reach the hips, thighs and buttocks. If this were true, then the obese guy would have the same amount of fat on his stomach, chest and lower back yet would have lost inches off his hips, thighs and buttocks!!! :D

I think they are one step ahead of you fitnessdock:D ;)

"Hypoxi’s sister treatment Vacunaut tackles the age-old problem of the spare tyre with the same holistic, natural and successful approach.

Vacunaut training utilises the unique combination of vacuum suction and exercise to also target inch loss this time from the waist and stomach."

is it cheaper than going for a jog or a cycle?

    it looks very expensive

My point was that they claim that you can "spot-reduce" by simply selecting the area where you want to lose fat and applying the Hypoxitherapy treatment.

Also they say this on the site:

"Exercising the muscle is the only natural means of burning fat. Using Hypoxitherapy, you are simply combining gentle cycling and vacuum therapy from the waist downwards to produce an effective fat burning treatment"

Firstly, you don't "burn" fat, even though the very image helps sells tons of "fat-burning" products.

Secondly, exercise is not the only way to burn fat. You can decrease your bodyfat level by making nutritional changes, e.g. decreasing your daily calories intake.

Lastly, "gentle cycling" is hardly the best way to exercise muscle. Intense strength training exercise (i.e. HARD WORK!) is.

So Robbie Williams swears by it, huh? Just like Glenda Gilson swears by the Voluptuo tablets which helped increase the size of her breasts "by a full cup size in just 3 months!" -> http://www.voluptuo.com/Scripts/default.asp

    :D

You should really go into them, Thefitnessdock, they really know what they are talking about. I did a course of Hypoxi and lost 33cms. Being a fitness instructor myself I know all the science too. As you know in a classical exercise programme you lose 70% of body fat from the upper body where the circulation is very good. With the Hypoxi machine or the Vacunaut this changes to you losing 70% from the waist down by improving the circulation by using a vacuum suction. The gentle exercise only helps the blood to go to the body parts that are moving. I got a free trial and the girls were so professional. I loved it.

Anything but rubbish. I lost a jeans size in 4 weeks with Hypoxi. After having a baby I found it very hard to lose it and my sister was getting married. Even my cellulite improved. I was delighted with the results.

You're a fitness instructor and you didn't know how to lose weight without resorting to unproven machinery?

    Wow ... just, wow!!!!

I had heard about this and really wanted to try it out. As any woman will tell you it is incrediably hard to lose weight after having a baby. I know all the conveniental ways to lose weight. I wanted to try something different. I personally thought this was great.

And by the way it is quite obvious that you have not done any reseach into this before you posted as if you did you would have found out that Hypoxi has been proven and they have been licenced for over 10 years now.

    Christ on a bike

I got the brochure in the post recently for their machines.
    I read it.
    Then I recycled it.
I probably burnt more calories during that simple two step process.

    Hi

I'm excercising, eating healthy and slowly loosing the pounds. But with a pending wedding approaching I'm looking into this.
I know the way to go is hard work, and i"m putting in the effort, but I could use a little helping hand, even if the overall results are short lived.

So my question is really has anyone actually tried this and what were your experiences?
Do you have to be SLIM (size 12) in the first place or will it also work if you carry a lot of I'(size 18) (sizes are for example only, slim and heavy is relative)

I am not a first time poster, I'm not plugging the product, I'm not suggesting it's the answer to all my prayers.

I'm just wondering, on the run up to a wedding would you loose a few inches to make all the difference... coupled with excercising regularly and healthy eating.

    THANK YOU

In the run up to a wedding if you just want to lose inches I would suggest a "wrap" at a beauticians. Effectively it compresses your fat. Lasts about a week as I recall. Diet and exercise is where it's at though. That's what's gonna make you look and feel good on the day.

    Good luck with it! :)

So who has actually tried Hypoxi?

Its part of a new gym i joined and ive been given a free trial. I dont expect to see results after a trial but i wouldnt be prepared to pay for the use of the equipment if i havent heard of positive results.

Any feedback from people who have used it welcome??
