the best, and cheapest place to buy uggs is http://www.uggstop.com.au/ugg.aspx - A friend of mine bought a fabulous pair there and they are way cheaper than shops here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53 ✭✭loodles

I got mine from these guys www.hartings.co.nz/
Took about 2 weeks but were much cheaper than Fitzpatricks and no waiting list!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,469 ✭✭✭Pythia

Whatever you do, don't buy them on ebay. I bought my friend a pair, paid full price but had to get them there as there was none in the shops, anyway, they turned out to be fake. It's a very subtle superficial difference between real and fake but if you're gonna pay full price you obviously want the real thing.
Fitzpatricks is probably the best place to go. Hopefully as it's 'summer' there won't be as many people buying them so less of a waiting list.

I am a 7.5 and the 9 in Uggs fit me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 47 hotstuff2

my friend ordered online and wasn't charged taxes. I suppose there is a chance you could be hit but it still works out way cheaper than buying in Dublin. I ordered a pair yesterday and they were shipped today so will let you know if i'm charged any tax (hopefully not!). Also re the penneys ones, the cheap fakes look really cheap and don't sit properly causing your foot to slide out at the sides. Better off paying for the real thing!

that's the worst thing about those type of boots. i've been told it doesn't happen with the real mccoy.

as with taxes it really depends how well your postman does his job. but if they are sent with a courier the likes of DHL/UPS/FED-EX expect to either pay customs at your door or if you don't expect to get a letter from the courier 1-2 months later looking for the custom charges.

I will never understand why these are popular with 'fashion conscious' young ladies. They are granny boots!

Nope, real Uggs have a very proper sole.

Sheepskin lining, soo comfy ;) I do agree that they're quite ugly though. But on a Sunday morning, when your feet are sore from the night before, they're the business.

i hate the way ugg haters come in here and leave coments like that!!!we never asked who likes them we sked where to get them how much etc...!!dont bore us with ur pointless comments!!!they're comfy thats that!!!

They're ugly and about six seasons out of fashion.....

Oh and lets not hear that "But they're comfy" ****e...people like them because they became a fashion item. There's plenty of comfy items of clothings that most Ugg wearers would turn their noses up at!

    ^Exactly!

Why not be origional and bother yer arses to get a nice pair of boots that aren't UGGly and out of fashion. So what if your loike OMG bff lol doesn't have a pair

How can they be out of fashion when every female is wearing them, and I mean every female

Cus most ''non-D4'' people have to make do with and get replica ones from places like pennys etc..

Yup yup. I am aware of that. Aren't you glad you spotted the pun in time? Just got yourself out of looking stupid, eh? :D
    MooseJam wrote:

Every female being every spoilt teenage daddys girl? Yes, there's a lot of them. I agree with you. But most fashion-aware females actually don't wear them.

And here was me thinking that the world had bigger fashion icons than D4s?..

    As Wilhomina Slater from Ugly Betty said;

"Daniel Meade is going to be more out than Ugg boots."

    Or something to that effect...:)

EDIT: And before anyone makes a smart-arse reply, NO I don't take fashion advice from Ugly Betty. The quote just sprung to mind...
    SaxoDuff wrote:

Yeah that's right. Non-D4s, as you call them, aren't as spoilt. A lot of them actually work for the money they spend to buy clothes instead of using daddys credit card. I know - I'm one of them. And yes, I shop in Penneys, not Abercrombie and Fitch. Why? Cos Pennys is cheap. I don't buy clothes on the basis that they are expensive. I'm not snobby.

I can tell this is going to get very heated  over something so stupid and ugly. <---are you happy with the spelling of that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,469 ✭✭✭Pythia

A lot of people wearing Ugg boots aren't spoilt. They saved for them themselves. I'd stop with the major generalisations.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,423 ✭✭✭tinkerbell

I agree with Pythia, I'd stop with the major generalisations as well. I am the most un-D4 person and I have lots of pairs of the real UGG Australia boots that I have saved up and paid for myself. I like them coz they are comfy and couldn't really give a crap that they are not "in season" anymore.

Fitzpatricks in Dundrum have them at the moment, I saw them there today. I'd go for the real deal too, those fake ones are just horrible - the sole is of such cheap quality and you can spot them a mile off with the way the foot slides to one side, it just looks awful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 617 ✭✭✭flynnser19

the thing is nobody asked whether they were nice or not they jus wanna know where to buy them!!!there was no need for any of you people to comment so the only reason itll get heated is cause you opened ur mouths :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,159 ✭✭✭✭phasers

    ughs you mean?

    most office stores stock them

I only like the dark ones meself

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,734 ✭✭✭Newaglish

I dunno, if I asked people how best to dye my hair ginger and what pyjamas are most comfortable for trips to Spar in the morning, I'd expect to get some fairly negative comments.

ginger is something you cannot attain from a bottle, it's something you ARE

on the PJ's, I suggest Penneys or Dunnes. and they have to have animals on them, and be made of rubbish material
and you must have a cigarette hanging out of your mouth at all times

Best place to get them is on-line at:
    https://secure.uggstore.com.au/index.php?currency=EUR&osCsid=bd6689b8e6bd3fcd7a06db03911cb505

Cost me about € 100 delivered for my wife's birthday for the Black Classic Tall ones. Delivered in about a week.

    Cheers,
    Darren

These aren't 'real' Ugg boots, ie made by Deckers, the US company.
They are original Australian ones. Now they're probably similar but not the same, and that's why they're so much cheaper.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 726 ✭✭✭dubsgirl

Does anyone know can you put UGGs in the washing machine?? On a wool setting of course!! My sister wore them and wrecked them...
    They are filthy

Any suggestions?? (to clean boots or kill sister)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,469 ✭✭✭Pythia

I'd try one of those cream spray things. My friend uses it for cleaning suede all the time. You generally get them in shoe shops.

I had no idea they would be so expensive, I could have guessed.
Anyway, I'll let you all back to your discussion on the mullet of footwear.

The the original poster of this topic....

If your girlfriend wanted uggs then I wouldn't recommend getting the ones for about €80 as they're not the brand she was talking about. Thus its a waste of money as she'll never use them. Either get the uggs in town or the ones off the hartings web site.

you can buy them in Fitzpatricks shoes on Grafton st........... there between €200 & €300............ happy shopping

Ugg Australia are owned by Deckers Inc, an American Company who own the Ugg trademark in America. These Uggs are made in China, thus subject to the new shoe tax here in Ireland (that's why they jumped in price when last year).
The site you've linked are non Deckers brand Uggs, so not the ones you see everyone wearing here.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2 sunshine26

I got a pair of UGGs about 3 years ago and now they're everywhere! It's crazy but they are the most comfortable boots around.

My pair got ruined recently and I was looking for ones like these...has anyone seen any like these? Thanks in advance.
