The Both Elephant MP7 is a pig, judging by reviews I've read.
The Well is supposed to be pretty good, as are both the Galaxy.
Isnt it Galaxy MP5's that Paul has in HRTA ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kdouglas

yea, used a galaxy mp5k at hrta before belonging to paul, they're pretty decent, especially for the size of them, i haven't tried an mp7 yet, but i think i'd personally prefer an mp5k to the mp7

although, if i was a sniper, i'd probably pick up a decent pistol as a backup, easier and smaller to holster and sneak around with, i know you can holster an mp5k and an mp7 but they are a bit bigger than a pistol

    Err no not really:o

OK I've changed my mind and have decided to get a good GBB. Looking at either a USP or glock. Anyone a very reliable one that runs on propane?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kdouglas

well aep's are ok at best tbh... a cheap aep wouldnt be that great i reckon, although you never know i guess....

Cant recommend a usp or glock gbb, because i haven't got one, but from what i've seen, the full metal usp is very nice.

    [screeching tyres]Actually...[/screeching tyres]

...this particular model is starting to pick some decent reviews, believe it or not.

One very recent review here (in French, whistle your Babel Fish over;)) from a long-time, experienced airsofter - who's still so-so about the aesthetics (because for purists, it's apparently a Frankengun, no real steel equivalent), but impressed with the performance. Apparently good for a 15m (45 feet) shot on a shoe box-sized target.

FYI (and tonyj_mc might confirm this - Hi again Tony :)) the '5K has a fair weight to it, so @ liamo333 you might want to take that into consideration.

    Ooooh to much choice :(

I have to say my double eagle USP is a handylittle thing, managed to get me out of a sticky situation 2 or 3 times, very reliable too

    Heres a link http://www.rsov.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=105_142_150&products_id=302&osCsid=33c9193fbc710c68180b2b79dbd7a455

Before this I really thought AEPs were all crap, but this is just so damn handy I would suggest that you at leaast think about it.... sorry toadd another one to your list

If you want the best of both a decent rate of fire and a handy sized GBB why not try a Glock 18? Decent pistol, nice size, handles well and if all goes horribly wrong you stick it on auto. Probably an idea to get a hicap or two if you fancy a go doing that though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,877 ✭✭✭liamo333

    What make?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,156 ✭✭✭tonyj_mc

very suprised by the weight of the k, gotta say though i like the feel of it, trying at the min to figure out some way to starp to the back of my vest for a back up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,877 ✭✭✭liamo333

How ya gonna take it off the vest quickly?

Get your hands on some paracord and make something out of that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,994 ✭✭✭ambro25

Sorry in advance liamo333, but since you're in such a quandary over choice...

... I thought I'd ruin your whole day with this mother of a linky.

Have fun, 'be reading your posts in here in about a week :D

Try a bungee sling, holds nice and tight but you can yank it round real quick too.

That Glock 18 is done a lot, there's a Cyma aep version of it and KWA have a gas version though its a lot pricier.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,156 ✭✭✭tonyj_mc

have a one point sling attached to the d ring at the top, think maybe a poper down at the bottom belt just rip off and flip over the shoulder, i'm thinking its gonna be a back up in case of a stopage with sr-16

Out of the first ones ya mentioned id have to say the galaxy mp5k would be better even though i currently own a Well mp7 :( . the mp5k has much higher fps better effective range even after fixing non-existant hop up in the mp7 and can have a much higher ROF 2boot. The only thing the Well mp7 has on the mp5k is style :p and well it is a little easier to holster aswell. So unless your very very fond of the appearance of an mp7 id say go with the alternative. Those Aep's mentioned above are fairly good but im already bored with my glock Aep its just not fun to use.

Specifically one strapped to your a**. That way if you can aim a fart, you can aim a claymore.

Have you tried some silicon oil
it does cure alot of probs but no .. methinks even mighty silicon oil would be hard pressed to fix this . the worst part is ya cant buy mp7 gear bits as its a uniquily tiny gearbox and very few parts are available Arrrgg.
Anyway ya defenetly made the right choice Liamo

I'm considering both my Glock 18c and Mp5k PDW for back-up myself.
My final choice will be determined by how easy it is to carry either
    as a secondary whilst skirmishing.

Can anyone recommend a MOLLE holster to mount the 18c onto a vest
or suggest a suitable method to carry the MP5k.

I have a TM MP7 and i think its great, too late now after your buy! i was going to suggest a GBB pistol actually, the KJW P229 is pretty cool! MP5K's are ok but i prefer the MP7 aestetically.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

the MP5 is better though, the MP7 is more of an AEP and doesnt have a good rof and range where as the MP5 is very good at those 2.,

Liam, my suggestion would be for the MP5. That way I can offer mag support, if you run low ;). Also when you see the new Tac Vest (arriving tomorrow!) you'll see the distinct advantage of an MP5 secondary.:D

    I had a k but I didn't really like it, I think I'll stick with the rubber knife:D

You can use a normal dropleg, take off all the straps and use cabel ties to attach it to the vest.

not exactly what your after but i got a fobus holster for the glocks from liamo and its great for holding the G18c, ya just need to do a slight mod on it and it holds very secure and dont bother you when you run.,

you can lend the mp5k to a mate in a tight spot or if his gun beraks

you can play with it as a primry if you upgrade it a little no prob

they look cool and are greatg for one hand fireing on the run in your left with may be a smaller g36 or m4 in right

if you like you can all ways cary a pistol to.

the mp5k will make them run away from you when you shout bonzi and blast madly at em

there is like 4 dif ways to cary the mp5k or other mp5s or mp7s

just 2 straps will hold the mp5 with mag in nicely any were you can get to qucik release straps stuck on

ie on vest to frunt or earther side under the arm tucks away nicly and on thi rig

lots of dudes just sling them clever to hang behind or under arm no holseter at all

but you can buy under arm and thi holser they nomlay come with a set of 2 or 3 mag puches
