Hi all, doing this for a mate of mine who doesn't do the interweb thing, he's looking into joining a gym in the Blanchardstown area, he asked about the National Aquatic Centre. Has anyone any experience of it?

I've passed on the reviews to him about Westpoint and Total Fitness in Castleknock, but I don't see any review of the NAC here.

    Cheers,

    D.

I've been there a few times - the pool is great obviously, and you'll nearly always get a lane or free space to swim unlike a lot of gyms.

The Gym isn't huge, but it's adequate, and has a decent amount of good quality resistance machine and cardio machines. It only has a small free weights section though, but everything you'd need unless your a serious lifter.

It never really seems to be that packed which would be a huge plus over Westpoint which is over crowded at peak times. However, it is dearer than Westpoint, but you do get a much better pool if swimming is your thing.

There is another Gym in Coolmine (near Verona boys football club), which looks decent. Never been, but I've heard it doesn't get too busy and has decent equipment. Might be worth checking out - and someone else who's been might post on it.
